Speculation in the press over the weekend that we're on the cusp of annoucing plans for a new ground in conjunction with LCC. Council leader Joe Anderson made a cyptic tweet just after the Lukaku signing, saying that it wasn't the only massive news that was going coming the way of Evertonians this summer. The site is rumoured to be Walton Hall Park - so I can't see how that could be opposed by our own. However, it remains to be seen what the actual facility looks like in the outline plans and what the funding model is. Interesting times for us Blues. Thoughts?
I wonder how long it will be before KEIOC rise and bang the drum on a phased development and safe standing areas at Goodison. Sure someone will also moan about the loss of part of dog sh!t park
Yep, they'll undoubtedly endeavour to find reasons why it's not up to scratch. It won't be 'iconic' enough, they'll pick over the funding model, moan about the bus route, or some such 'reason' I'm sure.
Had to chuckle at the reference to dog sh!t park, but doesn't that apply to any council funded park in the UK?
Round there it's particularly grim though. A 'Save the green space for the smack heads' campaign will no doubt be launched
This was pushed about at Kirby time - http://www.keioc.net/index.php?page=tom-hughes-letter But a design done by a student just on footprint doesnt fill me with confidence
That Tom Hughes stuff is cringeworthy. Whatever happens we won't be rebuilding on the Goodison footprint, as it's simply not big enough for a modern stadium. Not only in terms of the actual build but in terms of the outside concourses, parking and any facet you care to mention. Keep Everton near me favourite alehouse can piss off.
The BMX parking collectors were not happy to hear about the possible move, the drop in income will mean that they may have to return to a life of crime!
A free house for every season ticket holder? Do people with half-season tickets get a bungalow? #burn
