There's got to be a reason they haven't sacked him yet. Maybe they see him as the ideal candidate to secure promotion.
I reckon they will keep him until the end of the season and then he will be fired. Will be interesting to see how Short handles next season - risk the parachute money to try and ensure promotion or pay back some of his loan, ready to sell. I am sure that they will sell Pickford - they should get good money for him which will be better spent on outfield players. We have shown this year that a top class goalkeeper is not a necessity in the Championship.
If they go down they will sell the players who will fetch in good fees and attempt to rebuild the squad with the money. I think they are in a far worse position than we were at the end of last season to try and bounce straight back at the first attempt. Not saying they won't do it but I think they could see a season a bit more like Norwich or Villa have seen this year rather than the one we have enjoyed.
Agreed - their finances don't seem to be in very good shape. Think there are 3 reasons for this: 1) while spending less than us in transfer market they don't seem to have much success when moving players on 2) they have loans that are attracting interest 3) they may have paid for a number of their players with little money up front so are still paying for ones that are no longer playing for them Question is can they gamble to get back to the PL or will Short hedge his bets and keep money aside to cover losses going forward. Good thing about Mike is that he is a gambler - he is willing to shell out in the hope of big rewards. He also knows how to run a business.
It's because next year's kit sponsor is Lederhosen and they see him as the ideal candidate to lead the pre match slap dance.
Absolutely no comparison, at that time the only money spent was from the gate and the number of pies sold , not at the behest of billionaires , you really are showing desperation
So it's just down to luck and timing. If I had been born half a century earlier then Newcastle would have been the richest club in football.
Sorry to disappoint you OBI but at that time Sunderland used to lock out more people from Roker Park than attended Newcastle games, over 75,000 at one game, plus the money taken on pies , Gateshead ( Co Durham ) people at that time were almost 100% Sunderland supporters
I wish Fredor the f@ckwit would fall into a trap because he's becoming an unbearable presence on the board, is it not possible to get rid of the boring tw@t. I'm all for rivalry, p!ss taking and abuse but this old cretin offers nothing.
Trouble is it is one of Albert's fake accounts so none of us moderators can ban it. You need to speak to Albert directly.
I've always suspected that, however just because Albert shares his chinos with Fredor on non match days that shouldn't influence any punishment that inflicts pain on Fredor from being administered. I suggest we stone Albert first and then steal Fredor's women's weekly.
