The problem is that any potential new manager will probably base their decision on our attendances as a proportion of our population.
He has got one of those faces , the teachers pet kinda face , the guy who reminded the teacher they said they would do a test and used to sit at the front of the bus to talk to the driver
According to my Leeds United supporting colleague Monk resigned due to length of contract on offer and the transfer policy at the club. His opinion is that he hasn't resigned as he has another position lined up
Yes I would agree that Hillsborough has a much more impressive CV and ticks almost all the boxes (Leitch stand, WC 66 venue, instantly recognisable etc). Or at least it did till 1989, and it's been in decline ever since. The stain of the 96 dead, the cover up and the shame make it difficult to ever rehabilitate the place Leeds is a mish-mash of 60s and 70s stands, with one massive stand dwarfing all the others. Low charisma, low charm and set in a Dairycoates type industrial estate. Both grounds are rotting and any savvy manager would sniff the decay and leave well alone. To sum up: Hillsborough is the Lord Line building, Leeds is the New York Hotel.
We can't sign Gary Monk He hasn't got enough syllables to fit into the only one of our songs that everyone actually sings !
With the current situation surrounding the ownership of our club, it is difficult to imagine any further decent manager being interested.
Had a lovely moment today. Some kid who's Hull FC and armchair vermin came up to me to have a dig re Marco Silva leaving. I'd had a text about Monk leaving not 2 minutes earlier and it was with a healthy dose of Chardon Froyder that I updated the **** on the Leeds vacancy. MOT without Monky matey...he's ****ed off. Is Russell Slade available or Rod Belfitt? Football eh? Bloody hell.
I wonder if this is why we've had no Marco announcement - Porto has fallen through, Monk is off to Palace so he's got nowhere to go?
Been reading this board all day, I'm actually starting to wonder with all the managers leaving right now, and some pretty good ones out of work, Does Silva actually have a job lined up at all? no word has come from anybody official other than a guy at the hallmark with the Allams wishing Marco luck.
And yet posters keep saying Sunderland is a good job. 130 million in debt. ****,players,on big contracts and short wants to sell if he can
The new owner has tweeted that the rumour about contract length isn't true, there wasn't an issue, he was happy to give him a new theee year deal but Monk wasn't interested.
Must have been the transfer policy then? He had no involvement in transfers. I'd hope he's now on our radar.
new club chant.. Get out your mat and pray to the west I'll get out mine and pray with Gary Monk The Jam
