Interesting running in the Windsor opener tomorrow. There cannot be many animals that ever found their way to Clive Cox's yard that cost a mere 800 euros! Bizarre that she was so cheap too as there are plenty winners among her siblings. She is bred to be an early type and with his record at the track I wouldn't be at all surprised if this bargain basement filly did not oblige on debut. VILLA SAVINA 8/1 6:15
Hughes treble by 4 pm Waiting to see what Camila wishes Hope it's not to sticky (toffee pudding) Stay Frosty xx
Camila well and goes well fresh but no more rain please is what Becky tells me Non runners so only 7 and price now 5s Think I will invest in small win
Lasagne, roasties, broccoli and sweetcorn. 8/10. Ummmm…is he talking about Camilla who is in the Final of ‘Love Island’ tonight?!? Or so I’m told. I obviously don’t watch it. No, no, no and no again. Oddscehcker, is going absolutely mad re Love Island, at the moment, incidentally. Or so I’m told. I obviously don’t watch it. No, no, no and no again. Best monikered horse to run for yonks debts tonight at Beverley – Honey Gg (6.25). I chortle uncontrollably everytime I hear that name. What a lovely name for a filly by the way – an amalgamation of the worlds of crooning and horse racing. Not wagering but 66/1 currently available. She only cost £800 which could be cheap considering Honey Gg is by the July Cup winner, Mayson, and her dam was a winner who, to date, has already produced 4 winners. Good luck, me old loves.
Racquet 2.30 Ayr 5/2 Fell a long way in the weights before winning last time. Only four pounds higher here and this doesn't look any stronger. Holmeswood 3.05 Ayr 3/1 Has been running in better races than this and he ran well over course and distance last time. It's looks to be the easiest race he has faced yet.
Here’s an interesting claim from last week following the ‘selling handicap hurdle’ at Worcester. Dan Skelton claimed the 8YO mare Premier Rose. An eyecatching purchase for such a big barn especially when you consider she is 0/15 in the NH sphere and rated just 80 (although may go up a couple, or so, pounds following this Worcester 2nd). You get the impression Daniel thinks he can improve this one considerably (maybe run up a sequence???) because he hardly needs to make cheap acquisitions merely to fill boxes. Put Premier Rose, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, in your notebooks, people.
In front so having an EW tilt later on OUTOFTHEQUESTION 50/1 Windsor 8:15 This isnt a dart as such. I know there are some nicely bred types in this including three Godolphins. One of those, Stormy Blues, was second when Outofthequestion was fifth on debut. However the Godolphin horse had already had a run and Outofthequestion was given a really quiet introduction. I am sure he is capable of much better and hopefully will have come on a bundle for his debut. There are enough winners in the family to suggest we can expect more.
Well done Stick. €800 euros well spent. Interested to know where you get your information with regard to sales prices. Is it the subscription part of the Racing Post website or is it available elsewhere foc?
Pick any horse you fancy, click on the dam and it brings up all the siblings, click on "progeny sales" and it brings up every single one of her offspring that has been through any public auction. Tells you who sold, who bought and how much. Great tool.
