Dire. What is it about Watford teams that ever since I started watching them that they have a difficult time against poor teams. Today's performance put me in mind of the games against Peterbrough and Plymouth last season.

A bad day at the office is not a phrase I care for but we had one today. Nothing went right. Danny had an off day, Scott was really bad (he was rescued by the linesman TWICE) Lee Hodson wasn't on the case, as was Danny Drinkwater. The referee didn't see any of the climbing that went on, the occaission where Will Buckley was pulled off the ball in hte penalty area and only reacted late to all the time wasting by the Sky Blues.
On the plus side Martin Taylor was very good.

 

It wont be a popular comment with some - but this is one of the areas where the best managers come in. It is often harder to motivate your players and get them to win against opposition that they feel they should win against. The success of the top teams is that they rarely give away points to "lesser" sides. Malky needs to instil this discipline into his sides if he is to achieve success - and given time I am sure he will

leonardo, I'd say the body language of the team backs up your comment. to be honest, that's the first time this season I've been disappointed with the performance as much as the result.

 

Malky sounded very disappointed in his post match interview. He admitted that we missed Marriappa and Lloyd, yet from what I heard, and I did listen very closely, Dale didn't seem to do too much wrong.

 

I think his inexperience showed M. Frenchie, he rushed passes when he had time and panicked a lot on the ball. It wasn't his best performance today.

Derby and Sheffield Utd aside, I can't think of many teams on dire form that we've beaten.

Whenever there's teams with "haven't won in 8 or 9 games" or similar kind of stats.....we lose!

 

Leon you are a moderator have a conversation with Northolt we do not need anything like his posts. He can try and wind us up that is fair. But do not moderators have a responsibility and he is abusing the position.
