Moving on... Thursday 8.05pm United will need a win but the best we should hope for is a score draw. Yes it is that nail biting! Interesting fact 1 - Rostov were actually in the Champions League this season believe it or not, and actually beat Bayern Eunochs at home 3-2 and lost away to Atletico Badrid 2-1, which can only bode well for the mighty Red Devils in our quest for world domination. United on the other hand remain unbeaten in all competitions for 2583 consecutive games. One more and all the players get a set of steak knives! So it reaally is all to play for. Interesting fact 2 - The club has only been known as FC Rostov since 2003 and is derived from Rostofa, meaning nordic rastafarian. Watch the dreadlocks and pas the joint. Prediction: Game called off.
In all seriousness, we can get past Rostov with Herrera, who'll be getting a little rest soon anyway, Carrick and Schweinsteiger. Pogba needs a breather, he was like a child not getting his way last night he was so poor, and he knew it, throwing his arms about when he lost the ball (often) or didn't get it (also often). Midn you, he looked happy enough at full time hugging all his Chelsea pals so maybe I'm wrong.
Jose disagrees. He thinks Pogba was the best player on the pitch last night http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ayer-on-the-pitch-in-chelsea-win-over-man-utd Not sure what pitch he means, because he cant mean the pitch at Stamford Bridge. Pogba wasn't even united's best player, let alone best player on the pitch. De Gea and Rashford were your best players. Pogba was anonymous.
Yeah, he was. I wish I could be arsed to trawl through all the old threads where I was saying Kante would be 100% a miles better signing for Pogba for us and that we should really steer well clear of Pogba as, and here is the headline, Ferguson WAS RIGHT. It's not even hindsight, I didn't want the ****er in the first place because if he wasn't good enough first time around I couldn't see where he is good enough second time. I was wrong though, the money doesn't matter as we've got it so **** it. Time will tell. He does have potential and if he stops pissing about with his mate Lingard inventing stupid dances and concentrates on being a decent player then he might, might, come good.
Any player who can not displace Ji Sung Park and Rafael, a right back, from the centre of midfield in a crucial game has something suspect about him.
The lad has played 90 minutes in each of our games with the exception of Fernabace (played 75 mins) back in October. We are/were spoiled for choice in terms of midfield players so it begs the question why is he getting so much game time when he has played in more than a few games where he has been ineffective at best. I recall reading that his transfer was in the planning even before JM arrived (a Woodward pet project) if so, I find it all the more strange that JM is showing him such loyalty, particularly when he has been ruthless with the likes of Rooney and Rashford in dropping them to the bench. Makes you wonder if there is such a thing as a 'must play if fit' clause in contracts these days.
I remember players such as Ronaldo, Evra and Vidic getting stick in their first season but the one thing you couldnt fault was their attitude and commitment during their debut season. Even Ronaldo, was all about trying to prove himself and taking on the whole world (literally) rather than the "I've arrived" bollox from Pogba and strutting around like he's paid to watch the game. And that's without mentioning how underwhelming he's actually been in his technical ability! Wish we'd kept Schneiderlin tbph.
Was wondering if Schweinsteiger and Shaw would get a game tonight but it seems that Mourinho has made them train with the Under 7's so I can't see it. Shame, two decent players being mind bogglingly under/mis used. Ah well. He'll probably give Blind a run at left back tonight, it must be his turn as he has played Darmian and Rojo recently there but never, ever, our best left back. Pog the undroppable will no doubt play at CM.
It is frustrating that instead of managing Shaw to get him back to where he was 18 months ago, he's just given up on him. And yet Southgate has picked him for England basically said he's good enough. Slight dig at Mourhino there perhaps.
