Instead of quoting stats that don't tell the full story, actually try watching the game. It's not the number but the nature of the shots on goal. All were tame and most of the ones on target were outside the box except the one we scored from. In that first 20 mins we broke countless times, usually on the right. There was nobody coming forward to support or give Valencia options in the box. At other times we got to the edge of the box in great positions and nobody was making any runs into the box so the ball was played back and we lost momentum and the opportunity. If you didn't see that or pick up on it, I think you really don't understand the game.
I'd direct the bolded at you mate, if you want to blame jose for outplaying a team for 89 minutes of a match go for it. I'm not going to argue with a fool
Anybody else think Jose looked a lot happier in his interview today? He looked a lot more relaxed and almost laughed at one point.
I thought he was fairly constructive in his post-match interview tbh. He praised the ref even though he disagreed with the pen decision, and gave a good appraisal of the team. Which one did you see btw bcos I've only seen the BBC one.
And we should have really. I'm not going to have a go at Phil Jones, he's hardly played for a year, and Rojo but ultimately they would balls up somewhere and so it proved. Can't blame Darmian for being skinned by Oxlade Chamberlain as he was off the pitch by then! We should have won though. Comfortably. We played well, it was a good performance and Arsenal were made to look ****e for most of the game. Hard to take many positives though as we're miles behind now.
I'm a little concerned about de Gea's form, his reactions don't seem as good as usual and he is not coming for crosses like he used to (perhaps he has been told to leave it to the centre halves) and I think it is causing us problems.
Not a great deal he could have done about the goal. It would have been a hell of a save to stop it. He had literally **** all else to do.
Not that cross in particular, he has held back a few times in recent games when I felt he could come and claim or punch it though. I hope it's just a bit of a confidence thing and not instruction.
I know, it was a great header. I am thinking in general here, we have lost some goals I would expect him to do better with but maybe I expect too much because of things he has done before.
Jose Mourinho really seems to be frustrated with the result, he even said it feels like a loss for them.
