    If we keep more clean sheets. we stand a chance.The fact that we have scored more goals than anyone

    Agreed. That's why the Everton win was so much more satisfying, in my book, than the 'Boro or Stoke wins. It was good that we came back against Stoke, don't get me wrong, but we didn't give Everton one sniff, even when we hardly got a kick of the ball for the first 25 minutes. We need to do that more often to cement a top four place.

    Losing to Bournemouth is too hard to take, getting only a draw from West Ham shows that we do not defend properly.

    I was surprised and relieved when we got the goal against Everton, though - I just couldn't see it coming.
    Even though we went behind against Stoke, I always felt we were going to score and the only fear was that we might concede again before we got a couple.
    My nerves were shredded at the end of the derby, not so the Stoke game.
    I'll take 4-1 over 1-0 every time.

    since due to the way we play & our obvious defensive deficiences the chances of calm finishes to games seems unlikely to say the least.

    I wasn't really referring to the GD, though obviously that's important, rather to the fact that in a more open game I expect us to score.

    Weve shown on most occasions we can keep a clean sheet when it's really needed though. United game, saints, Everton.. all kept clean sheets when forward line let us down and avoided defeat / won last minute.
