This seems to be a very interesting option next season for any R's that are overseas. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39797400 It seems that we are negotiating to get the transmission rights on our new web site which shall be launched during the summer.
"However, the EFL says that 11 clubs still have the provision to offer the streaming through their own digital providers including Aston Villa, Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers and Accrington Stanley." Does this explain why QPR Player is being shut down and re-launched? Would be brilliant if they re-launched it with live match streaming but £110 does seem quite a lot. I wonder if I'd rather pay the £30 for QPR Player and just get extended highlights as in all likeliness I won't be able to sit down and watch a whole game that often.
It does explain the QPR Player shutdown as the new site should be operational in June/July. As a one off cost, £110 may look steep. However spread over 46 matches it come to "only" £2,40 a match. I will immediately say that it will not be as simple as this, as I believe the streamed matches will not include those covered by Sky. But let's wait for the official details.
£2.40 a match makes it sound very appealing, but I can only dream of being able to watch half the matches let alone all 46!
We had something very similar here when sky lost the rights to the premiership 100 quid a year for every live game Could watch the games all wee if you wanted too Which made it a bit more time friendly getting up at 7 instead of 2am Considering I was paying 200 for sky sports and we were only on a few times a year it was a better deal
