I don't think we will either TLF, I tried to find stuff on t'internet to back up my dodgy memory without success but I'm sure I read about the Liberty could be easily expanded as ease of expansion was part of its design. May be wrong and dreamt it all, wouldn't be the first time for that.
I can only go on what the club have made official, the last time they spoke on this in the media, the waiting list they had for season tickets was over 6000, so what it is now, is anyone's guess, could have gone down through disappointment with delay in expansion, or it could be more, the way I see it, we have to expand sensibly to grow. I believe the club had a 3 stage expansion plan for the stadium, starting with the East Stand, then moving on to the South, and finally the West Stand..............
1. You don't need a temporary ground. 2. Your suggestion of St Helens as a venue for Premiership football is so abysmally out of touch with reality I think you should go down to the next Whites home game and have a look for yourself
Were all season ticket holders from our last season in the Championship given ample opportunity to renew there season tickets for the first season in the Premier ?
If the ground is extended, I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of season tickets actually fall.
The owners couldn't make a deal to buy Liberty so they are on the verge of a lease agreement . Apparently they have or trying to get " Relegration " clause to the lease agreement ... I hope that clause is made public before anything is signed but wouldn't hold my breath ,on the heels of information held from everyone in the past from the board and new owners .
yep , but in fairness there wasn't 17,000 season ticket holders then, a lot were snapped up pretty quickly some have stayed and some moved onto other things ,it is difficult I have a son with two sons of his own who all have season tickets but something has to give especially these days and that's the case for a lot of people , jobs are going not to be replaced ( 200+ gone to Cardiff with the closure of the Tax office ) and now with rumblings of potential job losses at Brigend Ford then the jobs market is getting increasingly smaller .
25 years ago , 90% of Top Flight money for teams came from ticket sales and the money those ticket holders spent at the stadium . These days ticket sales and what they spend at the stadium account for 25% of money for clubs . For a club like us , no expansion makes more sense . People will probably jump on me for this but we are living on borrowed time in the Premiere IMO and IF we go down all that expansion will go unused .
Think small and we will always be small continuing with all the set backs that come with being a small club......What sort of progress is that for a club that wants to do well in the premiership ? Some Championship clubs and L1 clubs who are bigger than us now want and are expanding, What can they see that some of you cant ?
Rubbish we have a very large fan base that could fill a 30k seated very easily.......We have more fans than you think we have and give them the opportunity to attend then they will...
Swans' last published accounts indicated (if I remember correctly) that c80% of their revenue came from the various broadcasting/ TV deals. The balance split almost equally between Commercial income & Ticket sales.
I think that is most sensible peoples point. If we increased the capacity, we would sell out for 4 or 5 games a season, as you rightly say. Where are these 7000 people waiting for season tickets, when we cant sell out for a game that is quite frankly massive.
