Prediction League Leicester doing a Leicester in CL

Cup is lot easier than league by all means.

Hey if Real Madrid can win 2 CL titles with skin of their teeth in the last few years - why cannot Leicester do??

No way they're winning it but as I predicted they will do well 1/4rs will be about it and that's a great effort.

 

Barca won't know what's hit em as the ball is relentlessly pumped upfield by Caspar The Friendly Goalie....

 

They'll get to the last 16 as they're in the easiest group. After that they need to hope for another favourable draw as if they get one of the top clubs then Huth and Morgan will be on the end of a massacre.

Cheers mate .. it's a nice thought but the odds are against it ... that said it's not beyond the realms of possibility for an English club to fluke the Champions League ...

Look at Liverpool in 2005 ... bang average team, favourable group, ghost goal wins them the semi and opponents giving them the mother of all hidings in the final switch off to such an extent that Liverpool come back to draw the game and then win the lottery that is a penalty shoot out (arguably the only way that Liverpool could have won that final.- they weren't going to beat Milan in open play) .... take all that into account and that most unlikely triumph is arguably the biggest ever fluke in English footballing history

Now admittedly we have a better team than 'Pool did, based on the individual components,... but we are very unlikely to be THAT lucky ... and the quality of the top teams has also moved on considerably ... still... never say never ...

I know you have a little running battle with one or two Liverpool fans but that post just smacks of jealousy and it's beneath you, you've had a great run and pulled off the impossible last season but then to belittle a great sporting acheivment like that calling it "lucky" and although you have a certain point with the team it did have the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, Hamman, Garcia, Carragher, Hyypia and Riise in it (shout out to Finnan). It was also a great Milan side known for being a superb defensive unit so to come back from 3 down is no little thing.

You could just be fishing though and just got a huge bite.

 

... what do you think if I confessed that the word 'fluke' and its' use by certain posters was key to the whole post would that influence your thinking ?

 

Yeah well I did sort of figure that out but just had to rant.

Some superb fishing tbf as even though I knew it was a hook I simply had to chomp all over it.

 

It will take 5 games of incredible performance or Chelsky 2012 bus-parking to do it.

... tbf ... if I really wanted to go to town on 'fluke' Champion's League wins I could cite United against Bayern ... completely outclassed for 89 mins .... and also Chelsea against Bayern ... similar and playing for pens ... but in reality, if you've won something an element of luck doesn't make it a fluke ... it's about hanging in, following a strategy, and seizing your opportunities ... and we did that for close to all of last season ... but all's fair in love and war and I couldn't resist the 'opening' that @StanDMan presented ...
