Tosh, Ancelotti has said today that he plans to take a year's sabatical from management. I doubt he would come to us in any case, although I'd snap him up if he would. John Collins is one of those whose managerial career started brightly, then fizzled out. He was my first choice when Sanchez got the bullet, but I wouldn't want him now. Lee Clark is going to be a great manager (although, as with Danny M, there's always the risk of him doing a runner when his first love, Newcastle, come calling). I'd take Lee Clark if it wasn't for the Europa League this season. We either need someone experienced, or someone - like Danny - who already knows the first team squad's strengths and weaknesses. I wouldn't be keen on Martinez, who still feels like a man learning his trade to me (and I know I'm advocating the less experienced Danny, but, again, local knowledge mitigates against his inexperience in this case). As I've said before, Ranieri would be great.
Yes, I agree Morgs, It's difficult isn't it? Ranieri looks like the best possibility, with least downside. we shall see............... MAF may have a surprise fro us yet
Tosh, how's this for one out of left field: the return of Kevin Keegan? It could go disastrously wrong (and probably would), but he's available, has European experience, has a history (and, perhaps, a sense of unfinished business) with us and would certainly be up for playing attacking football. I'm sure it won't happen; I'm almost sure it shouldn't happen; I'm almost starting to hope it does happen!
I have to agree with Cravens I think, KK is a sandwich short of a picnic (and a tomato, a boiled egg, a bottle of beer, table cloth, cutlery, napkins and hamper)
Keegan? Oh God please no, he had his chance last time and jumped ship to take the poisoned chalice that has become the England job. Klingsman was be very interesting, I'm not sure if it would work out, but it would be very interesting nonetheless.
mmmmmmmmm JK might be worth a shout. Flambouyant rather than crazy, has some good experience - I could live with this.
I am certainly looking forward to more exciting (/amusing) press conferences under Jol. Hughes really was dull in the press room.
Well either it was too late or that was a ploy to get Jol to sign but I guess Klinsmann isn't happening!
Glad we're not getting Klinsmann. I was impressed with his German team, but the word is that the tactical acumen was all from Loew. I'm not sure that JK has been so good since the two of them went their separate ways. Jol's a better manager, I think.
A bit surprised, but quite pleased with Jol. He obviously didn't upset Chairman Mo too much last year - so let's go. I think he could be quite Fulhamish
