Mood changer this one, been a ****e week with relegation and stuff, I am sure though that there are others like me that have far more to worry about in our daily lives.. I did a first record bought thread a few weeks ago so how about the last one you bought.. I got this the other day, totally forgotten about it but remember my older brother playing it when I was about 8 years old and I heard it on a TV advert, Class musicians the Davies brothers and both in the hall of fame where they belong.. Hope it lightens the mood....enjoy..
I bought music by LP purely on the strength of this performance on Jools Holland ....... slinky, powerful & cool as it gets. And what on earth made her put that whistle in for no apparent reason
There's a four piece female London group around at the moment called 'Trills', 4 very different people by the looks of them but I have never heard a better cover version of 'Gimme Shelter' than what these girls do. Forget the Stones classic and guitars, these girls sing it in harmony, slow with brilliant pianos. If you google 'Trills' they have just released an EP, well worth a listen..
Joe mate, I've previously avoided sending you this video but wtf eh ...... it reminds me and Mrs Smug of you every time we play it. I hope you take it in the spirit it's meant, wonderful song and wonderful performer.
Haven't bought a single in ages but Infestissumam by Ghost is the most recent album, along with their most recent one, Meliora. Hadn't head of them but they were playing nearby and I got an invite so went along. Absolutely incredible gig, really unique sound nowdays. Sounds very 70s / 80s metal / rock. And the stage show was absolutely incredible. Their "gimmick" if you like is that they're a satanic church, with the lead singer as their "priest". Had the whole place decked out like a church, incense burning and everything, was a great experience. Completely surreal, most bands just stand on stage and play nowdays. I'd 100% recommend it if they're ever playing near any of you guys.
Joe - love the kinks man one of the most underrated bands of all time. Saw an interview with Dave Davies not so long back he was saying that no one could label their music because it was so diverse - so true when you think about it
Led Zeppilin - Physical Graffiti Thin Lizzy - Live & Dangerous Celtic Frost - Monotheist I own these already but are now collecting records on vinyl again.
After Sunderland got relegated I bought the theme music from the Titanic...Iceberg ahead, never let go Jack....and play Khazri for ffs.....
