We've had quite a few players on a last contract at City over the years, obviously JJ, Boateng and Pederson most recently. I remeber Bremner, emlyn Hughes, Billy Kerr etc when i was a kid. I suppose, eclectically, we've probably had a top class team of players who were on the wind down. Favourites?
Is your keyboard on its last lefgs too? Billy Kerr? Don't remember him, did he come to us after he left Ultravox? Peter Barnes, Alan Taylor. Pedersen was fantastic and Okocha is still the most skillful player I have ever seen in a black and amber shirt - even though he was 44 at the time!
Boteng, Pederson and Jan of Hesslererd have all played since leaving us, so it wasn't actually their last contract. I'd throw Ray Parlour's hat into the ring.
Sneekes gets away with it because of his daughter. http://www.misshollandnow.com/miss-zuid-holland.html
So did Hateley. Went to some Scottish 2nd or 3rd Division club and was released early a few weeks later because "his presence in our team is having a negative effect on our players and a positive one on those of the opposition."
Indeed he did, though as he only managed two league games for Ross County, his stint with us was pretty much the end of his career.
Steve Moran for sure. But did Terry Curran turn out for us at the end of his career? or have I dreamt it,
Couple of old ones (very old) but Wilf Mannion and Stan Mortensen both played for us in the 50s who were both well into their mid 30s at the time
