Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson has a response for Simon Grayson's harsh assessment of the Robins The Preston boss said last week that City had under-performed this season ByGregor MacGregor Last week Simon Grayson added an extra motivation for Lee Johnson and the Robins by saying that Bristol City had massively disappointed their fans after spending big in the summer. But now Lee Johnson has hit back, saying 'that's just one way of looking at it'. Speaking ahead of the Lilywhites' game against Nottingham Forest, Grayson said that Bristol City had underachieved 'big time' and would have been hoping to be involved in the top six rather than the bottom six of the Championship. Now Johnson has had his say. "Well I think it's a fair comment as far as we feel like we should have more points on the board. I think [on] our money spent, well it depends how you look at that," he said. "By selling Jonathan Kodija, Luke Ayling and Luke Freeman for vast sums of money and then to build for the future. Johnson was keen to point to the promise of youth in his side and has asked for supporters to be patient as the Robins look to turn the corner and build for a successful future. "A lot of the money we've spent this year was for young players, under 22s actually, Callum O'Dowda, Gustav Engvall, Josh Brownhill, Jamie Paterson who is under 24, a lot of players in that future band and bracket and particularly with our U23s as well we've made some good future-type signings that are only going to improve us as we go forward. "And that's what we wanted. That's what I bought into as head coach. And that's how you get into this type of scenario, because you get inconsistencies with young players. "But hopefully, with a bit of luck, as you see with Barnsley's progression, if you can stick with it and continue to the plan you get the players come through, very valuable assets, and a performance on the pitch and a contract that the players are locked in." "That's how we've got to do it at Bristol City because we're not like the Newcastles who can go and pay £45-50 million in the Championship to go and get promoted." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/lee-johnson-disagrees-simon-grayson-17507
Where does he disagree with Simon Grayson ? Underachieved and Lee AGREE'S giving a reason behind it! pretty much a sensible and honest reply, although it would be more in keeping if we had another half a dozen points on the board.....
Come on Tampa, that was the exception to the rule, and there was some great talent in that young side in Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and Butt.
SAF was an exception and a genius. He also took Man U to the brink of relegation in the early days and all their cockney supporters were calling for his head at the time. Can LJ be our very own SAF in the making? He's got the first bit right.......

Oh dear it's not looking good other than our relegation competitors are not doing great either. I wonder what Lee might have to say after this one, but there's still time to mount a comeback.
