First signing?. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/neil-warnocks-first-cardiff-city-11986397#rlabs=2 rt$sitewide p$2
Just the right sort of player we require. Pacey generally and quick off the mark over the first half dozen paces - something we dearly need. A few weeks back I read something about his wage demands were preventing finding a club. Maybe Tan has got the message that we need something different in the side if we're going to get anywhere this season. Out of the bottom 3 would be a start and then it's up to Warnock and Tan where we go from there come January.
Colin's been quoted as saying he wants two signings immediately. Limits your options. Are there (m)any free agents who would hit the ground running? Certainly wouldn't be match fit. Any loanees that could be recalled?
Apparently he's a liability. Don't know why we'd want to waste our wages on him when we have three decent players in the position.
The last thing we need is another centre half. Incidentally Warnock confirmed on TalkSport this morning that he was only looking at signings and failed to confirm that Hoilett had actually signed. Hoilett was playing for Canada last night leading me to believe the signing is far from the done deal WOL are claiming. As ever I hope I'm wrong.
Bringing Bamba here does seem a bit odd on the surface, I think we need an effective and experienced captain on the pitch rather than a centre half. The thing is Sol Bamba is both.
I assume he will play four at the back so only need two CBs. We have plenty on our books. More likely to need a left back.
Agree, some will disagree with this but I think Declan is too lightweight and not a great defender. Decent enough going forward but getting back is the issue.
Quite like John but think Colin will want a nuts and bolts full back on the opposite side from Peltier. Depends on the formation he goes for. Would like to see 4231 which is what we were saying at the end of last year. Gunnar and Whitts in front of the back 4, Lambert up top and any 3 from half a dozen in between.
Totally agree with this. Vertically challenged as well. We have seen big forwards target him in the air.
Don't get me wrong mate, he's a decent player but I really don't think he's championship quality at all.
I was starting to wonder why we even signed him. I think he needs to be given a place against the wurzles.
Interesting that we suddenly have funds available for new signings. Hope we're not going to fall foul of FFP. Does Tan trust Colin more than Trollope and Slade?
Apart from the cash in the bin we got for Fabio and Marshall (£5M?), the savings on their combined wages will comfortably pay for this new three.
The fact is that Chamakh is on nothing a week at the moment. I reckon he'd take a massive reduction in those historic wages to get back into the game with Warnock. He's 32 now and would command much less than his earlier reported earnings. Wasn't Bamba reported as being only on £6K a week at Leeds? As for Hoillett, he could be the stumbling block as far as contract and wage committment as he's only 26. Once again the fact is he needs to play and we need the likes of him - something needs to be brokered that will satisfy both parties.
