err lots of us weren't including Herr Klopp. a more accurate statement is quite a few of us were troubled by the decision to basically sack off the league and put all our eggs in the one basket.
Are you talking about the manager that usually has a mediocre first season whilst he assesses his squad then quite often wins the league in his second season?
No, the manager who's won 4 major trophies in the last 3 seasons. He might be a right c**t but he's a winner. Anyone who denies that is either bitter, deluded or Astro. I'll stick my neck out and say he ain't winning the CL next year though!
I'm talking about the manager who almost got Chelsea relegated, that same team that just won the league with their very next manager.
Yep that is a useful habit to have. sounds like i'm being bitter but if we had faced the teams ManU have we would have won it as well. So it made more sense for them to make it the one & only objective.
big dreams. Last season he didn't quite make it. 3rd round fa cup was a decent cup run for everton but this lad has big dreams.
Goodness, I can't believe I've read that! Are you astro in disguise or have you a short memory? We are the least Cup side you could ever find. Remember we got dumped early in the FA cup, in the semis of the League Cup and we couldn't win even one of two cup finals we were in. So I wouldn't bet anything on us if I were you...
I don't think Klopp took the cups seriously enough. I think his focus was on top four, and, before January anyway, the title. It went wrong when Mane went to the African Cup of Nations and we realised too late we were piss poor without him. I don't think we had any plans to buy in January at all and by then the ship had sailed. Somebody somewhere got it badly wrong. Last season in the League and Europa League finals we bottled it big time. How could we have lost so cheaply in the League Cup final to City then the following week kick them off the park? If that doesn't haunt some fans, it bloody well should. It still rankles with me.
since i was referring to last season & we beat ManU & BD i quite happily stand by that assertion thanks. and obviously i'm not Astro in disguise or else there would be hashtags & graphs proving my point.
I agree with Solid. Do you honestly think the opposition Utd faced this time were anywhere near the standard we played in the last few rounds last year?
You mean you don't believe this is real - “My dream is to win the league with Liverpool some day, and come 8th with Everton, which is the blue equivalent. I also want to win the Champions League with Liverpool, and scrape into an FA Cup 4th round replay with Everton.'' I believe he loves flying his kite and walking his dog at the Bramley Moore seaside as well.
Hey. Sorry I misread and thought you were referring to this season's team and not last season's. Having said that, last season's team probably would have beaten all the sides in the run up to the final. Against a mobile and fluent Ajax side I am not sure that Klopp would have the cynicism and ruthlessness of shutting everything down to ensure a win.
no worries. think we would have done it with this years team as well tbf but it would have been nerve wracking
Imo utd would have tonked that ajax side 6-0 playing real football and imo if we met that side last year we would have absolutely hammered them.
Agree on both points. The Ajax team showed a lot of promise, but they're young and inexperienced. I think a number of them should go far, unless they get snatched by the mega-bucks clubs and spend what should be their developing years sat on a bench.
