Yes SC, what must it have been like then. I wonder how the game would be in another hundred years..........
Well, until he retired a couple of years ago there was another Saints fan at work, Funnily enough, I never asked him why... I'm even further west than Langland but such a beautiful part of the world.
I've always said the game seems to be heading down the ice-hockey path (another favourite sport of mine). More and more subs - how long before you can alternate your line-up during the match bringing players on and off to rest them and change formations to suit situations? Sin-bins they're already here - phasing out of draws - that's more or less here, it won't be long before the leagues remove them - video referees well on the way. The only thing that won't happy is fighting I guess.
It's the best era of my lifetime anyway. .was able to go to more games this season than any other, some excellent moments and some not so good. I am in the camp to give puel another season. Top half finish and a Wembley final warrants giving him another season. I feel the team were at the peak a few seasons ago. I remember being at the away game at Fulham were all Lallana lambert and jrod all scored in the second half. We were sublime in that 45 and around that time I feel we were at our peak despite the subsequent higher finishes. I suppose the tearing apart of that team that summer signalled the end of an era somewhat. The last three years have been fantastic also but it felt that bit more special with the team that got us from league 1. I just hope in the next couple of years we keep up the high standards and build a team we can be truly proud of
