We saw a shocking red card handed out at the weekend for a 50/50 challenge, which was at worst a yellow card for each player. The week before we saw Dean send another player off during the Southampton v Spurs game for a coming together outside of the box. Not only did he send the player off, but he also awarded a pen.

Mike Dean has a nasty habit of making himself the centre of attention during games, when his role should be to remain in the background and keep the game flowing. Of course he needs to apply the rules of the game, but far too often he is over zealous with his application of those rules, seeming to want to stamp his authority on games, and in the process ruining them.

He's worse than useless, as he actually seeks to ruin games, so that he can have his moment in the spotlight.

His decision in the Spurs game was correct.
You want rid of him because he you've got an appalling record when he refs your games.
    Very dishonest.

No, I think he's a poor ref because he has a poor record. He's already sent off 5 players this season and awarded more penalties than anybody else. Also last year I think he also held the record for sending players off. Of course some of those will be justified, but is it really a coincidence that he topped the sending off league two years in a row ?

The amount of players that he sends off or penalties he gives are irrelevant.
The accuracy of the decisions is what matters and he's largely not being judged on that.
Pricks like Alan Smith and Niall Quinn are criticising him when he gets things right. Wonder why that is?

Someone is always going to top those charts and he seems to end up there because he gives consistent decisions.
The opposite end of the scale is Mark Clattenburg, who lets people get away with murder early on, then loses control of the game.
He's a star, apparently. Shame he's completely **** and teams know exactly how to push his buttons, eh?

He is though, as he is being judged this week based on the ****house decision to reduce West Ham to 10 men after 15 mins.

And the one against Spurs, that you, Quinn and Smith all brought up?
Got it right and still got slagged for it. Can't think why.

The angle that Dean had for the sending off made it look like a really bad tackle.
He got it wrong, but the response to it's been overblown.
It was a yellow and he gave a red.

Moss gave nothing for this, which then didn't even make MOTD:

    Which is the bigger mistake?

Well both players had their feet in what could be deemed dangerous play by a ref. Me I'd have booked them both.

That was a terrible decision and ruined the game as a genuine contest.

Referees need to be 100% certain a challenge is worthy of a red, as it ruins the game for the paying public.

<laugh> Walker plays the ball, then immediately drops his foot. Taylor kicks him in the head. Twice.
    Mr Clattenburg? Is that you?

I think your find that Walker has his foot firmly in the other players family jewels. Both dangerous play although one was slightly worse.

The problem is that they then get slagged off when they don't give a red, like Pawson's Rojo decision.
He then also gets slaughtered when he does give a red for the same thing in the next match.
The pundits are as inconsistent as the officials and moan about decisions based upon hunches and feelings.

It doesn't bother me that much that Dean isn't the best referee in the world and that he makes mistakes.

However the fact that he's the most arrogant man in the world and always wants to be the centre of attention boils my piss. He needs knocking down a peg or two.

It's time for off field video assistance, but ****e referees like Dean are way too eager to go with a hunch as opposed to being completely sure that their call is the correct one.

Webb was often called a bottler, but he only made decisions he was sure about, any doubt and he waved play on
