We could sign Ronaldo and Messi on loan but if the manager only uses them to keep the bench warm they are not going to do us a lot of good. Other clubs sign players and play them we seem to sign them and coach them and then leave wondering why they came to us
4 weeks ago, DC told us after a defeat against Shrewsbury which was on top of a poor poor poor display that... "I'm not interested in the last two promotions. It is about the here and now and I need to see who has the ability to be a top player in League One." He also went on to say that there are a few players who unfortunately havent been able to make the step up to this level. He basically said he knows who he has to let go. Then... After beating Northampton 5-0... Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke believes some of his long-serving players are under-appreciated. Clarke started nine players who were playing Conference football less than two years ago when Rovers dismissed Northampton Town in devastating fashion to move within a point of the League One play-offs last weekend. The manager continues to try and bolster his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Fleetwood Town, but admits that he finds continual questions about the arrival of new faces disrespectful to those that have helped the club to back-to-back promotions. When we lose, DC says he aint interested in the past 2 seasons success but only interested in the now and some players havent made the step up to this level and changes are needed. Then the same players put in a good performance and gets a great result over Northampton and DC bangs on about the last 2 seasons successes that his players are under-appreciated for what they have achieved at the club and talk about new signings are disrespectful to his current squad. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me. I guess as we lost yesterday, DC is back to "some players arnt good enough" again. Thats why I think the Northampton result put DC into a false sense of security. A couple of clean sheets recently for Puddy has also blinkered DC's view on the keeper situation. Hopefully yesterdays error will wake up DC to get back on the search for a proper number 1 who installs confidence into the defence and team.
Rovers winger joining FGR apparently.... Forest Green are set to bring in a wide player from League One Bristol Rovers. Speaking after Saturday's FA Trophy last 32 victory at Chester, manager Mark Cooper said a deal had been agreed with a player. The winger in question is likely to begin work with his new team mates on Tuesday. http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.u...0059147-detail/story.html#HdlS1R21HbBbKlyi.99 Cant see it being Bodin, Montano or Moore. Must be Gosling!
I think they will want the experienced player. Personally I dont see Gosling having a future with us. Let him go asap and save on wages and put it towards another signing, say a GOALKEEPER! I like Broom by the way. Will he get a chance or will he be like Jamie Lucas?
Having seen Broom play in a couple of friendlies and the central league games I hope the club stick with him. Maybe he has changed his mind about Sinclair
According to Gloucester live Jake Gosling is joining FGR on LOAN, Kiefer Moore has joined Ipswich and Elliot Frear says he doesn't want to play for FGR again
I would be happy to have Frear in an exchange but looking at his attitude saying he will not play for FGR again, I dont want players like that here. But Frear played for DC at Salisbury so who knows!
Just discussing this by txt with some mates Frear played over 60 games for Salisbury possible swap for Gosling instead.
Interesting that he's still a loan. He's another player who is young and with lots of potential, so I wonder whether the door is still open for him in the future?
