We've lost the last 2 away games against quality sides (Newcastle/Villa) and were probably unlucky not to have got something from both given the effort put in. I don't think Ipswich are in that league and are no better than Forest where we took all the points. There's an argument for going to away games and trying not to lose, but a point a game won't get us out of the drop zone. Every game is worth 3 points and you wont win them all but Ipswich are one of the sides we be should looking at to take the lot. I'm not talking about Gung Ho stuff - more of a serious intent to take maximum points with a plan. Under Slade and Trollope we always seemed to be on the back foot worrying about the opposition rather than planning to win a game. With Warnock at the helm we certainly didn't give the points away to Newcastle and Villa. The team performances were outstanding if lacking in outright quality and flair. That should be enough tomorrow but that still means someone has got to bloody score!! Solve that little conundrum and with Wolves, Barnsley and Brentford to follow, we can climb away before the difficult New Year's eve return with Brighton.
Trouble is we rarely look like scoring, we just don't get the ball into the opposition box enough and when we do we don't have sufficient players there or with the right skills to put it away. Set pieces apart of course. These are the main issues for Colin to resolve in January. Isn't Tom Lawrence with them on loan? Sod's law he will have his game of the season tomorrow.
Sounds like Colin was trying to work on things to play a bit differently for the next game but got kaiboshed by a delivery of dodgy lunch time kebabs. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-sickness-bug-ruined-neil-12297527
