Hi all I have been reading comments here and on social media sites about the problems we currently have what are there for everyone to see. I know people will agree/disagree but here is my opinion The rotation system has stopped working and in my opinion, this is because I believe people realise that however woeful they play, they will always get games as the squad gets rotated so much Puel should go into training this morning and state his 'starting 11', which I believe should be; Forester, Cedric, Fonte, VVD, Bertrand, Romeu, Davis, Pierre, Tadic, Bofoul, Long This should be stated that these 11 need to play well to be in the side and those not in the side need t prove and show they care to get in that side. There is then an incentive for everyone to up thier game or not be involved. Striker is 100% priority for January along with not losing anyone that is an important player. As stated this is only my view
'Right my starting 11 is this, if that upsets you I'm sorry, I have to do my job.' Five minutes later. 'Okay, first 11 take time out because I want to talk to my team for the Norwich game.'
There is probably something in this. If you have a **** game, you don't care as you will be dropped for the next anyway. The stand out performers this year...VVD and Romeu (almost) never get rotated.....
I think it's even more straightforward personally. Training should look like this: Monday - Shooting practise Tuesday - Shooting practise Wednesday -Shooting practise Thursday - Shooting practise Friday - Shooting practise Saturday - Extra shooting practise Sunday - Extra shooting practise I'd also start fining people for either a) not shooting when they have a chance and b) missing the target horrifically. Redmond actually had a shot that went out for a throw BEHIND his shooting position against Palace.
Can't really argue with the over-rotation, I find it baffling that every time I go to a game we have a completely overhauled team. There have been a number of times where players have put in really great performances, only to be rewarded by being dropped. Can't be good for morale.
So you're suggesting we might win a game if our players had rifles....sounds like a plan. * *though with our lot, perhaps the fans behind the goals need to learn how to duck.
Can you imagine if you have to face a firing squad and are asked for one last request. Mine would be to change the shooters to Shane Long, Nathan Redmond and Clasie......
Shooting practice to be followed immediately by passing the ball forward practice and passing the ball to the man making the run practice. On match day any player passing back when there is a forward pass to be made will be docked a weeks wages.
A settled team would help, so would a few days at Staplewood of really solid tactical and technical work. Just a shame about that fixture list.
