City didn't seem to have any doubt when they apologised to him. Besides which, there were around nine or ten coins thrown at him, so I'd be surprised if anyone in the stands knew exactly who hit him, other than the bloke who threw the coin of course. Guess we'll only find out if you club ever manages to locate the fans who threw the coins. The Utd fan who hit Bellamy with a coin was arrested and charged using CCTV footage within 48 hours of the incident, not sure what's taking City so long.
IMO, if ten guys threw coins then all ten should receive the same punishment. The coin connecting with the target is irrelevant, the intention was the same
