I wonder if they've got stores moving in to some of the other empty shops in other areas of the shopping centre. The first floor is still half empty; it needs something to go in the old Virgin Megastore/Zavvi/Gym shop. That unit overlooks the water so it's probably one of the better units but I imagine it's too expensive. There's a lot of empty units at one of the entrances where GAME used to be - that needs sorting.

A lot of people on the HDM Facebook page are calling for Disney store to return - I didn't know many people used it?

Elsewhere, Sports Direct and USC seem to be moving out of St Stephens and across the road to the old Argos building.

The vast majority of the goods for sale in a Next Outlet store have never been offered for sale in a regular Next store.

They have a shop at Cheshire Oaks. I would hardy describe them as an 'anchor' tenant and more a making up the numbers tenant. I'm sure most the shoppers at Cheshire Oaks wouldn't even notice if they shut tomorrow.

Most of the stuff in outlet stores (at least for the big groups) and in TK Maxx was made for them, it's not old stock from other stores.

Except TKMAXX has branded clothing from a variety of sources and Next just has stuff from Next.

The large stores at Cheshire Oaks are M&S, Gap, Next and Nike.

i dont ever remember going to an "outlet" store and finding anything i'd want , even the old Belt Outlet in Florida had old and inferior stuff , altho its where i got my Riddell trainers years ago :/

I was in Prinny Quay on Monday and its in a sad sad state , no stores at all on the first floor and empty storespace on the main ground level

As ive said , because the Council keep on moving the city centre shopping focus we end up with detached shopping areas ,
Its as if its only hanging on to bridge the gap between Jameson St and Whitefriargate , where id try to restore WFG to its original state and scrap the modern store fronts , encourage small boutique / pop up stall into PQ main level and put more entertainment zones on the 1st floor , rather than hope it goes back to shopping ... Rockclimbing n the like

Everyone was moved out of there ahead of it re-opening as the outlet floor.

Ralph Lauren has a stand alone store. I lived near there for years, the premium brands are where the focus lies for shoppers in Cheshire - not really Next etc. That's why there's shops like Mulberry, Church's, Gucci, Boss, Burberry etc. Square footage it may have a slight advantage (still well down on GAP and M&S). I'd bet turnover at Cheshire Oaks in particular is not what you would expect for Next.

You don't seriously think the likes of Mulberry, Gucci, Boss and Burberry might consider opening in Princes Quay?

Our lass and daughter love the Florida outlets, most women do, they have last seasons stock at half price, Gucci, Michael Kors and the like, handbags other stuff they don't need but have to have, we drove to the Florida Keys the other year and saw the England friendly v Honduras in Miami, so my daughter says can we stop off at the Dash shop at Miami Beach, I didn't know what that was either, Kim Kardashian owns it I think, anyway it took us 2 hours to get there through the traffic, she bought a sodding key ring for $10.

There's another story connected to this but I will leave this there

Anyway Prinny Quay needs a pub a bit like a Weatherspoons, or preferably a Millers Ale House would be great, then at least us blokes out shopping could spend an hour or so drinking and watching sport on tv while the other halfs buy stuff they don't need.

Not sexist because there may be LGBT persons on here
