* could a mod change the title to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Typo on my behalf. I personally think that Wolves are one of the favourites for promotion this year and tomorrow's game could be a real test to see how good our team really is. So far we have faced Aston Villa who continue their terrible form and Burton who gave us a good game until the sending off and are one of the favourites to go down. There are definitely some good early signs coming from the squad and if they can maintain those levels then we could have a very good season. This will be a good match to see just where some of the players are, especially Clark and Bowen. I would be tempted to make a change in the centre of midfield as we looked lightweight there and against a better team they would have exploited that. I was impressed but Henriksen but I'd be tempted to swap him out for some grit. Although a start may come too soon for Meyler and unsure on Stewart's fitness.
Wolves might rotate some players, whereas City can't really. Hard game to call. Wolves have had one of the toughest starts, but got maximum points, Neves is a fantastic player. But, I hope you are not going to the game tonight, might be disappointed.
I'd like us to play the first half with how we've played in the second half of the last two games. I know it was against 10 men against Burton but that can sometimes be tricky. I'd also swap out Henricksen for Meyler/Stewart.
I think another game so soon may be too much for Campbell given his lack of pre-season. I think we may see him drop to the bench and Stewart/Meyler start alongside Clucas with Henriksen moving further forward.
We seem to have played quite open so far. It'll be interesting to see whether we do the same against a seemingly strong Wolves side. This is the kind of game that makes me really miss going.
I'm a bit surprised we're playing it tonight, although if we haven't told Wolves either then we'll stand more chance than we would tomorrow!
I just don't think we have faced a true test so far in the two games we have played. On paper, you would say Villa are but Bruce isn't doing a great job of getting a tune out of them. And playing against 10 men for the majority of the Burton game gives a false representation of how the match could have gone had it remained 11 vs 11. So I think tonight will be a test of our team when we are playing a good team that is in form.
IF we were to beat Wolves I wonder if it would make more signings more or less likely? On the one hand you might think owners wanting to sell might think. The fist teams not that far off spending a few quid now would make promotion far more likely and I could sell for a much better price in a shorter term. On the other hand they might think. This Championship lark is easy he can make do with what he's got. Unfortunately I think it may be the latter...
http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/index.php?threads/hull-city-away-predictions.197565/ Usual blend of stupidism and positivism with a few blots of realism (though I didn't I read any that think they'll lose). Strange bunch and place is Wolves: one of those places that constantly feels like a Sunday (well, to me anyway).
Villa have lost one game and in their other game against us they where unlucky not to be 4-0 up at half time so it's a bit soon to be calling bad form.
