There isn't anything wrong with it apart from that (although it is a massive 'that') , in fact I'm surprised it's as positive as it is Still underwhelming involvement but at least they've acknowledged it and used its correct title this time
Holy Trinity Church will feature on Sunday's Songs of Praise ahead of its re-dedication from parish church to Hull Minster. This is for information only, obviously I'm not suggesting anyone should actually watch it.
It's just another Minster now, though. I quite liked the fact that it was England's biggest Parish Church!
He definitely said that the move to only play local bands was to stop paying the PRS licence. Acccording to http://www.prsformusic.com/users/businessesandliveevents/pages/doineedalicence.aspx "The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 states you need to get permission from the copyright holder to ‘perform’ music in public – and a music licence grants you this permission." The club specifically called earlier this year for local bands to submit music to them. Obviously if the bands are doing that, they can easily get the written permission of each artist to use their music, which according to the linked website, satisfies the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 without paying for a PRS licence.
Hadn't thought about it like that and it's a good point. Although I see Rev Lambo says it'll be a Parish Church too. Best of both worlds?
We play music ahead of kick off, they need a PRS license for that, regardless of what bands are playing live.
It's nothing to do with playing live. They asked for artists to send them their music to play before kickoff. So they will have their permission to play it.
From the PRS website: "Please note, you don't need a licence from us if you play music which is out of copyright or purchased from a royalty-free music library. Please contact us if you're unsure." http://www.prsformusic.com/users/bu...musicforbusinesses/leisure/Pages/leisure.aspx Click on What music is covered by our licence? If the artists don't claim royalties the club don't need a licence.
