Generally true, but Bank and Republic didn't leave Prinny Quay, they went bust and no longer exist.

    Yeah.

The point I was trying to make was they weren't replaced/units refilled.

    I wasn't entirely clear.

One would have thought as St Stephens is doing so well they could put the heating on. It's always bloody freezing in there.

    It's a wind tunnel.

    Princes Quay is a greenhouse.

    One extreme to another.

It's not just the wind tunnel effect of St Stephens, there are vents, leading out to the rooftop car park that I thought could be blocked off to reduce the coldness sometimes felt by shoppers and workers alike. The roof was supposed to resemble a wave and be an eye catching design but when I worked nearby, during one winter, they had to put barriers around the tail piece facing Park St as the snow would fall off in great clumps from the wider sections of the roof and slide down to the tail bit. I did read a while back that the 'Pod' was going to be demolished and the whole place refurbished, but it's all gone quiet on that scheme now.

They don't have heating and have no plans to install it. In effect it's a shopping street with a roof over it.

Yeah that's been done. There's a new coffee shop where that old pod thing was now. Not convinced we needed another coffee shop but whatever.

I think that was something different, there were suggestions they were demolishing the Starbucks pod and refurbishing up there but I can't see how they'd be able to take that down without a lot of disruption, given its position and the fact that there are lifts and stuff built in to it...

The car park itself is horrendous IMO, unless you like to treat your car like a go kart.

Is it just me or is this weekends Freedom Festival the lowest profile one ever? Hardly seen any publicity for it in the local press etc

Update: 13:33 an article about it has appeared on HDM in the what's on section

Cavendish Square on Margaret Street? I lived there in the Sixties.

    Or do you mean Laandan?

Saw them setting up a big tent in Quees Gardens and wheeling all the equipment inside, this was last Saturday, until I didn't realise, oh and by the way I was taking a look at our new 'cheese grater' so called, actually I think it looks quite nice, although not finished.

Hull's museums have been visited by over 1,000,000 people so far this year. <ok>
