Whiteheads is excellent. Shame about the parking problems. Been to Papa's at Bilton and near Scarborough. Both very good. On a nice day a new one on the seafront at Brid on the North Side at the end of the Esplanade, just before you walk up the slope to get on the pathway to Sewerby is very good. Seats outside with a good view. Just won an award.
There's also a very good fish & chip restaurant at Albrough, The Frying Farmer, only beaten by a very small margin by Whiteheads but certainly better than Papa's.
The Frying Farmer is Geoff's (chair of HCST), so flash a HCST membership card in there and you get a free pot of tea or summat.
You've just helped me out Lambo, every time I've been and I've seen Geoff it's been one them where you know the face but can't place where from. I'll now be able to have a good netter about City, along with asking him why there's no City regalia up in there
