what happened ..strange one that mind anyone see it .. wonder when mr probert and co . collected there wad afterwards .
when you look at all the strange decisions going against us all season you would think that the EFL and ref's syndicate placed all their wad on us NOT winning the championship
this is from a PNE forum I'm still struggling to get my head round why a penalty was given for an incident that was clearly off the ball (by almost half the length of the pitch). I thought free-kicks/penalties were used for 'on the ball' incidents, and cards used for all the other handbags bollocks. Weird.
if an offence was committed inside the area even though the ball was half way up the pitch then it is a penalty but only for serious foul play - I believe the player was only booked, but covered the refs arse
aye , m8 just never seen this happen before in my 30 years of watching footie and to cap it of ..6 mins into injury time ..ummmm
the 6mins of added time was an interesting one when I read the report from the BBC i could only see the possiblity of 3mins being added there were 4 substitutes in the second half while only 1 minute of play being delayed so where Probert got 6 mins from is beyond me - it on the BBC report if you need to check I was also reading nufc.com - back to when we played Bristol City the same ref as yesterday nufc.com report "City's ludicrous time-wasting tactics infuriated Rafa Benitez, but referee Chris Kavanagh saw fit to add only four additional minutes before blowing for time" yet booked Shelvey for doing the same double standards ??? against Aston Villa nufc.com reported "His major error (Kavanagh) looks to have been ignoring a 34th minute penalty shout on Dwight Gayle" +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++= Kavanagh, whose day job is as a referee development officer at the Manchester FA. doesn't bode well if this is the standard he is developing
We have been stiched this season no doubts about it good thing is we are still going up so its not seen as sour grapes.
t thought we were mint second half .. a ref is just some **** that could not play football when they were younger .. video all the way
You sound like Mackems lads, "it's a conspiracy". I think we've had a fair crack and have just been a touch disappointing.
To be honest I think we may have got enough points in the bag. I can see Huddersfield getting no more than 2 wins and a draw from their remaining 4 fixtures and Reading losing a game which means we are already promoted. I'm going to have a celebratory drink and toast King Rafa the messiah on a job well done.
But we should be toasting the title. With our squad and manager that's where the bar should have been.
Why? This has been bugging me for a few weeks now. Why the **** should we be toasting the title? Why should we be "walking the league" as many people have claimed? Because we're Newcastle? Because we're Billy big bollocks looking down on everyone else in the league? We do not have particularly good players mate. We don't have a divine right to win anything. Brighton have had to do pretty well to stay with us and overtake us. First and foremost they deserve credit for winning the league (assuming they do). It has baffled me how we have statements like "we should be walking the league" and in the same breath we have the people saying (quite rightly) that many of our players are ****. Forget how much was spent. It had to be spent since we had a mess of a squad which had just had the crown jewels sold, plus the rest of the personnel was dire, and players cost what they cost. I think we've got a lot of arrogant fans to be assuming we'd win the league at a canter tbh. I'm confident we'll go up automatically and then we can start again for an even bigger challenge, but the most disappointing thing for me is how some of the players who had question marks over them have not come through and shown they are good enough. Namely..... Lascelles, Atsu, Colback, Diame, Perez, Mitrovic, Yedlin (although some may disagree and that's fair enough). Gayle did enough but he has injury issues. Shelvey has been a bit hit and miss but he has contributed a fair bit at least. Ritchie has been our best player - top marks. Clark deserves credit. Hayden okay. That's it though. Too many haven't produced the goods or taken the opportunity and the squad building is going to have to be more extensive than we probably expected a few months ago. I think you can throw some criticism at Rafa for sure (too much rotation, some subs, and certainly playing too slowly) but we've got fans expecting him to polish a turd so to speak. If your players aren't that good then the football isn't going to be that great, I'm afraid.
Aside from a few players our squad is pretty poor and Rafa has been a bit disappointing. However, the league is a quagmire and I would certainly have taken 2nd at the start of the season. Got hoping for more midway through but 2nd will do and I really hope we can manage it.
