I think it's about 9 weeks until the new season starts.

When you consider that we will be losing about fifteen or more of last season's squad and will be left with a half dozen or so such as Watmore, Gooch, McNair, Jones and Love, all of whom need assessing by the new manager, and will need a good ten or more signings, how much time do we need?

Then, when we have enough players in they will need time to get to know each other and how they will play together.

The manager will have his style of play for the players to adapt to and get used to.

It's a couple of weeks since Moyes went so how long until we get a manager in to start the above.

I hope we get someone in quickly because it's a huge task to get what is almost a complete new squad in and playing together to a system. The longer nothing happens the longer into the new season we will still be learning.

I don't want a panic signing for a manager but I thought we would be further along than we are now.
I don't know how near we are to signing a manager but there doesn't appear to be anything happening.
Maybe a new manager will be revealed tomorrow but I get little sense of any urgency.

One thing is clear though, the longer we leave it the less prepared we will be for next season. Every week that goes by without a manager is a week wasted.

I'm not excited by any on the various lists. Perhaps some unknown will be revealed, or the scotch fella, I don't know. I actually think Mick McCarthy would be better than most of the names associated, otherwise, one of these up and coming younger, proven in a lower division, managers.

    Sooner rather than later.

I agree, I would have though that we would have had a manager in by now?? We definitely do not need to start the same as last season, get our man in and let him have as much time as possible to get a decent squad together so that we can at least start on the front foot. It would be nice to win a game before October/November!!!!

I think they're interviewing as we speak so it will be soon.

As for sorting the team out, it's a bloody nightmare. I can only hope that the new manager has his finger on the pulse and is already aware that Kone and Khazri are bad apples, O'Shea is past it, Catts is awesome etc. If they insist on spending an eternity giving everyone a clean slate and not wanting to sell anyone before they've been fully examined, as if they've got no idea who any of our players are, then it's going to take forever before a healthy squad is built.

Im not even close to stressing yet. I'm more concerned about getting the right man for the job rather than rushing it.

I think we'll have somebody in another 3 weeks at the latest and I'm fine with that.

Simon Grayson is now the favourite.

McInnes is 3/1. I'm lumping on him now and taking my chance. I still think it's going to be him.

I think the only reason Tel puts Catts down is because deep down he knows he's better than any player that United have ever had and ever will have.

Yeah that got to him because he knew it was true, and we had the quotes to back it up. I also remember the time that every United player and fan past and present voted for Pele as the greatest player of all time.

Speaking of people needing time, Moyes should have been given longer at United.

Oh and James Corden is just super.

Maybe they are afraid of being accused in the future of making a panic signing, it is possible that could happen

Well sounds like interviews start tomorrow(today now) So would have thought one a day. Day to deliberate. Depending on how many we're interviewing it could be anything from Thursday to Monday.

Got to get this right, especially with limited options. Time spent now is time saved later if we get the right man. Not to be rushed imo.

    Agreed.

I think they'll be interviewing a different person each day this week and somebody will be appointed early next week, maybe even by the end of this coming week.
