How much are all our players worth?

Pretend you are a neutral to Newcastle United, and you're a regular football fan. Forget your emotional attatchments to certain players, and your bias as a toon fan.

How much do you think all of our players are worth?

- Harper - 1.5 mil - I would say more but he will most likely retire soon.

-Simpson - 4 mil - Crackin right back, great pace, can cross a ball in well. Man United wish they would have kept him or asked for more than 1 million.

-Taylor - 6 mil - I would say more but he gets injured quite alot, but based on his quality in form, and his ability to provide an excellent threat on goal, 6 million seems fair.

Coloccini - 8 mil - Excellent pace, agility, skill and ball control. Intelligent, and can pass the ball well. Could be a striker with some of the quality goals he scores. Great defender.

Enrique - 15 million - Excellent strength, pace, attacking flair and crossing ability. 15 million seems a fair price for one of the best LB's in the PL.

Barton - 15 million - In the form of his life, nearly all of his performances are superb, his deliveries are neraly always amazing, excellent ability to track back and works hard every game.

Nolan - 6/7 million - Goal scoring midfielder, who will give everything, his blood, sweat, tears and heart. Not one of the best technically, but can distribute the ball well, his deliveries are decent. Good mid to have. Also great in defense.

Cheik Tiote - 10/12 million - Superb player. It may say central defensive midfield on his CV, but this guy is so much more. Very tough, strong and aggresive, can make midfields that have cost 100's of millions, look like telly tubbies. He frightened the bollocks off Fabregas.

Jonas Gutierrez - 4 million - Hard working winger, inconsistant with his deliveries, but has great pace, skill, good ball control and works well with midfield and defense.

Shola Ameobi - 3 million - Not the best paced player, but is a very strong presence upfront. Can cause defenses problems, can hold the ball up well, and will weigh in with some goals and assists.

Andy Carroll - 18/20 million - Target man that will score 20+ goals a season and get bags of assists as well.

Other players -

Leon Best - 2/3 mil - Will work hard, provide a goal threat. Shows good composure and will bag 8-10 goals a season with the right team behind him.

Peter Lovenkrands - 1.5 million - Excellent pace, looks threatening. Will work hard. Passed his prime, but could score a canny few perhaps in a championship team. Is woth 1.5 mil to a CCC team.

Wayne Routledge - 2/3 million - Superb pace and skill. Is pushed to his limits in the PL, but would be one of the best players in the championship. Would work well with an attacking team.

Guthrie - 3 million - Good person to have in CM. Good pace, good ball control and skill. Good deliveries, and can pick out players well.

Smith - 1.5 million - Hard worker, a player you would like to have on your team if you were trying to cut other players off and restrict their play. Good, aggresive player.

Krul - 2 million - Good shot stopper, decent keeper, still a lot of learning to go though.

Yes, I really like Joey Barton, but is he worth 15 million?

And he's been great so far, one of the reasons for our success this season.

I'd say 6-7 million, but come on 15?

Cheik Tiote - Essien cost wat 24 million? I'd value Tiote at 16 million.

RIP, I reckon your valuations seem about right...I wouldn't necessarily be happy if we received the money quoted for a couple of those players but that's more 'cause I don't want us to sell full stop!

Yeh the first ones about right although we'd never get 15m for Barton (just cos of age and for some reason other clubs don't seem to rate him that highly) even though that's what I'd value him at for us

The only players in our squad worth anywhere near what you have suggested are Carroll and Enrique, the rest nowhere near.

 

Carroll, Enrique, Tiote & Ben Arfa are all World Class & All priceless!
