It would not surprise me if this sudden departure is to disappear before the next story breaks about his shady dealings. We all know he has been deep in this **** over a long period of time. Him and his son. Others may be happy to ignore the obvious and hide behind the burden of proof excuses but for me he should be nowhere near football. The likes of him, Blatter etc are not suitable people to be involved in the game.
It has to be transfer fund assurances, I reckon it turned into a game of chicken with neither Sam or Parish backing down. Wouldn't surprise me if it was over the Sacko deal, Lpool wanted £30m for him. The problem this creates for Palace is that most people in the game will know why Sam left, any prospective manager would be stupid not to have a word with Sam before-hand. If the issue really is the amount of funding being made available for player purchases, it may put off any viable managerial choices. If Palace do not strengthen and fail to get in a top manager, I can see them really struggling. Ranieri to come in for me and completely undo his reputation by getting palace relegated!
No he has categorically stated it is not. He'd have just said nothing if that was the case. The man is putting it down to wanting to spend more time with his family and travelling. This would be fair enough. However because it is him and he is so shady, I can't help but feel this sudden change of heart could be more sinister. There is a decent squad there at Palace put together by Sam, Pards. They have some decent players. The worry would be now that the likes of Zaha may think about moving on. The next appointment will be a big one for them. I can see a few managers fancying it though. They are in London, have the likes of Cabaye, Zaha, Townsend, Benteke, Milivojević to build a team around. They badly need a centre back though and Sakho isn't likely now.
If only for the fact his rotund shadow covers a lot of those empty seats on a sunny day, he will be back at blunderland one day
The Fat Man will be back about January / February 2018 I suspect. A desperate call from a PL club staring relegation in the face and he'll swoop in for a few months graft and a cheeky £3 - 4 mill in the bank, presuming he keeps them up. Why slog through a full season when you can earn more, doing less!!
