Last night watched the game Granada v Real Madrid. Plenty of Udinese and Watford talent on show although as the spanish commentators said it is really difficult to keep up with who is registered with which of the three clubs. But for the game there were long periods when it was hard to tell who was fighting for the title and who was battling relegation. Granada built play up with not many long balls. They were confident in possession and when they lost the ball they pressed hard and regained frequently. When they went one down after 30 minutes I thought they might drop away but far from it. And when the equaliser came (on the hour) it was no great surprise. Had they held on for a point RM couldn't have really complained but I guess just about a fair result (1-2) in the end. Granada have their own battle to fight and I wouldn't want to see them robbed of the ammunition they need but many of the guys who played last night would not be out of place at the Vic. We're certainly part of a good set-up I think. Hopefully before the season is out I'll get to see them live. Interesting to see if any of the locals spot my Watford scarf and to hear their thoughts on being part of the family.
I watched it on Sky, so the commentary was a little easier for me! I thought Granada played really well and deserved a draw. I would normally not watch football on a Sunday night, but really enjoyed it (apart from the rolling around) and will watch again.
Granada welcomed Odion Ighalo back last night as their guest of honour at their match with Real Madrid. They presented him with this seasons Granada shirt complete with his name and No 7 on the back on the pitch before the game where he was greeted with great affection by the Granada fans.
Can anyone explain we pay good money for Doucoure so we dont lose out on such a great player . Then loan him to Granada they keep losing and he gets no game time ?
Looks like it Brian. Andrés Fernández Biraghi Miguel Lopes Babin Ricardo Costa Fran Rico (65 ') Success Doucouré Rochina (80 ') El Arabi Peñaranda (69 ')
Yes I do and so do a lot of Udinese fans which is cheesing them off, along with the sale of Peñaranda to us.
Well I think the signing was more about the Pozzo's protecting their interest: there was a E20m release fee which has now been negated so when he is sold he will (hopefully) go for a lot more than that, certainly double. I think that's the idea - Alexis Sanchez Mk.II
Someone should tell Penaranda he come and play in the EPL for a few years then if Barcelona come calling he will be able to 3x his wages as he has played in the top league of Europe .
