I don't wish to sound harsh but isn't the OP a bit ridiculous? It was his first start wasn't it?

He was a bit anonymous first 20 then looked decent I thought
Didn't hear any booing unless maybe because he was coming off when he looked OK
Manning and Wszolek, both of whom I like, had been poor last 2 games so deserved to start on the bench

I should look again if I was you!

He gave Goss a 6, the same as half of the side.

It's a pointless thread with unwarranted comments on a young lad playing his first game.

I thought he did alright. No better or worse than any other player. He looks comfortable on the ball and looked to shift it quickly to keep the game ticking over. He looks like a player who has the capacity to dictate the pace of the game by speeding it up and slowing it down when needed. He could be a good signing for us once he's match fit and gets used to his team mates. The other factor is getting used to the stadium. When a player is familiar with his surroundings he picks up the sight lines in and around the ground and these serve as a reference for finding your range of passing and making runs and other things of that ilk.

Nines, Paul Scholes wrote a fab article on this lad and said he would be a good player. There were other comments saying Manure should not have let him go. I guess under Mourinho they want ready made stars.

I thought he did ok - other than he often retreated so deep to collect the ball he was passing out from a centre back position. As a team we were 10 yards deeper than we should have been (first half) and it was crying out for someone just to take the ball forward and bypass the pressing front line. We looked much better when he was subbed but then again we changed formation.

Glad to see some sensible responses on here from Ellers, Nines and SingRs, who seem to have seen Goss' performance the same way I did.

Also hello everyone; long time follower and part-time poster with a season ticket in F Block. Don't post that often at all really, unless I see something that really winds me up, like the OP in this instance!

I disagree. A younger version of Michael Carrick. Did ok.

Reminded me a bit of tom Carroll more than Michael carrick to be honest, and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. I admire anyone who truly wants to get on the ball and play, which he tried to do for the most part. Give the lad a chance

I thought Goss struggled a bit at first, but seemed to be becoming more influential as the game wore on. It seemed a bit harsh of Holloway to take him off when Mackie was so much more deserving of being subbed, but it was a tactical change rather than reflective of his performance (and of course the changes worked). I thought Goss showed enough to suggest he could do well for us.

Carroll was superb for the Swans on Saturday, wasn't he? If we can get that from Goss I'd be delighted.

Amazing to think that it was 4 seasons ago that he was with us during Kneecaps reign and from memory he hardly played.....this is what happens when you give youngsters time to mature, they turn into decent players......hopefully some of our fans will give Goss the same time......

I was one of Carroll's biggest cheerleaders when he was with us.
He is looking integral to Swansea's play and looks totally at home in the Premier league.

What costume do you wear? There could be a job for you at Palace.
