The day of the year when all the posters who have left Hull for more money, better jobs, sunnier weather regret their unforgivable actions!! Large Haddock, Pattie, Chips and Mushy Peas. Bread and butter Cup of Tea(Yorkshire tea bag). please log in to view this image
We've got my daughter and her husband up from that there London over the weekend so naturally we will feed them proper fish and chips so that they realise that their big city existence is pointless Fridays in Anlaby Haddock (large), chips, mushy peas, white bread & butter, pot of Yorkshire tea (followed by cold lager as a palate cleanser!) We're taking them to the Flood play at Vicky Dock on the night too...show them that London is **** for culture too
Twat, she's agreed to work Friday too so we can't even come over for some. Our kid's coming over to help me (do for me) finish some decking I started last year. We'll be fish free, it's ****e over here.
Point taken Chazz. I left 'Ull for two of those three reasons. I'll be in Gran Canaria on Friday. Ok, I'll miss me fish, chips, pattie, bread n butter, cup of char but I'll be in a place in Puerto Mogan that gently pan fries a slab of tuna as if it's being kissed by the gods themselves, serves it with canarian potatoes boiled to perfection, freshly made mojo sauce and large, juicy canarian tomatoes with fresh bread rubbed with pungent, mild flavoured garlic. Mebbes a pint or two of lager, or a jug of sangria if I'm feeling that way inclined. A stroll in the late afternoon sun. Beautiful sunset. Awe inspiring volcanic landscape. The love of a good woman. I'll survive.
Each to their own, but I don't rate that place very highly. Quite a number of better ones round my my way.
Ban this thread immediately. Not interested in your ****ing ****ing fish & Chips stick em up your arse. ...
I may have left for slightly sunnier weather but it doesn't mean we miss out on our Haddock and Chips..... Chumley Warners here in North Lakes, does Haddock (Unfortunately from Iceland not UK), proper chips, mushy Peas, Curry Sauce, battered sausage. It also does cod, but who on earth would want to eat some of that !! They also have a jar of pickled eggs !!!!! Im not sure if the reason they pickle them is because no one eats them so it preserves them.... Only downside is, compared to the UK its not cheap obviously, but then again if it means we don't eat again for a couple of weeks, then thats a cross we have to bear.... Of course there are loads of easter eggs to revert to when the going gets tough....
We have fish and some good stuff but nowt with batter on, or up to our standard. Always loads of bones. I had fish and chips at the Hilton here in Aqaba. 4 pieces and they came on frigin sticks like a bloody lolly. also said mushy peas, which was orange colour I asked why are the peas orange waiter said is mistake it should say mushy carrots wtf. In answer to your question I hope to go out on my mates boat and catch a couple. Eat em later on a barbie. Failing that fish fingers from the shop. Sounds exciting. I love my Fish & Chips best meal ever if from a good shop.
oh yea I left Hull for Carlisle for the sunnier weather (nope) more money (nope) better job (nope) but the upside is that I'm only 3 hour drive away unlike Brisbane / Qatar? cambridge Tiger et al- so when I'm in town for a home match I make sure I get pattie and chips or the occasional fish from the best city in the UK- downside is that I'm fast becoming a fat bastard- oh well !!
