The desperation to stay up says it all. Could this be his first relegation? http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/12/21/coventry-city-to-appoint-russell-slade/
Oh dear. Always enjoyed our trips to the Three Point Arena. Haven't their fans had enough to put up with? They have been so shoddily treated in recent years. I must admit I saw us following them down the slippery slope until Warnock's appointment. Despite our loss last week I still see a feeling of optimism around our club - although what happens in January is vital in ensuring that continues.
A Cov fan, Robbie the Mole, used to visit us quite often on here. I met him and his son (as did Bluescull and HT) for a beer at the Ricoh on a couple of occasions and also took them to the Cornwall before a Boxing Day game 4/5 years ago. I haven't heard from him for a couple of years and he seems to have disappeared off the Cov 606 site - can't even find his name to PM him. I know he will be gutted by the decline of his club and this bit of Christmas news won't help.
From one CCFC to the other CCFC via Orient (another xmas link- we 3 kings and all that) with his dour brand of football.
You missed out Charlton there Nin (though I can't think of a Christmas link for Addicks ). The supporters across there were about to top themselves before he was sacked last month. Don't know if Kevin Nugent is still with them now they've appointed Karl Robinson but I wouldn't mind betting Slade will bring him to Cov to reunite the failing management team.
BFB, just tried to look you up on FB, can't find you under BlueFromBridgend pal. What should I put in as your real name? Can't find Old Sparkey either....do you think Doris O'sparkey?
Masky, if I told you my real name I would have to kill you. And I don't want to spoil everyone's enjoyment of your posts.
Bill Wyman Sparkey, had a very big Ding dong apparently, me and him both....very handy at this time of year pal! Dong that is.....Ding Crosby eh?
Not so sure about that Hilts. There are half decent teams currently at that level who wouldn't touch him with a bargepole - Charlton learned their lesson. The current top 3 in that division wouldn't be where near they are with him leading them. Scunny, Bolton and the Blades have all gone for previously successful young managers in Graham Alexander, Phil Parkinson and Chris Wilder and are reaping the rewards of their vision. It comes to something when Slade can only find work with two clubs down there with probably the most inept, hopeless and out of touch owners in Duchatelet and SISU. That in itself speaks volumes about Slade. It's as much as who you are prepared to work for as just managing a football team for the sake of it - perhaps that's all he could get.
