Goal-line technology (Hawk-Eye)

    The article below shows the arrangement of the cameras around the pitch.

    There are 14, 7 per goal, but to me there is a gap.

    Each goal has a camera enfilading the goal, but only from the one side.

    Surely the goal shold be enfiladed from both sides ?
    - That would mean 16 cameras, 8 per goal.

    I do not know if this 14/7 format is the EPL standard, or is just how AVFC has decided to implement Hawk-Eye at Villa Park.

    Update on the broadcasting facilities at Villa Park.

    AVFC - Villa Park undergoing changes as part of new broadcast guidelines

    Villa Park is currently undergoing changes as the stadium gets set to fall in line with new Premier League broadcast guidelines.

    B6 will now boast forty-one camera positions - an increase of eleven - for the upcoming 2013-14 term.

    That adds up to thirty-three standard points and eight of 3D capabilities as well as 120 new cables, totalling 24km in length.

    - that is 15 miles, in English.
