General admission tickets (sitting on the big bank) are currently discounted to £71 (but about £83 by the time you pay delivery etc). Thats for Friday to Sunday although we'll probably not go on the Friday. The grandstand seats range from about £150 to £380 for the weekend. We went to the Hungarian GP about 3 years ago and it was mint. I think the Red Bill Ring has better access and facilities and the views of the circuit from the general admission areas look pretty good and not too crowded. Just have to hope it doesn't rain.
Biffy Clyro were ridiculously good on Friday night. Their catalogue is stunning now. Obviously there is now songs that don't get played that you kinda wish did but there is only so much they can do. They forgoed the usual 5min break between show and encore to fit more in. Literally two "Mon the Biff"'s and they were back out. New stuff is really growing on me. I can't believe where they are now as a band after seeing them at T in The Park a couple of times many moons ago. I remember their early stuff It was not the best.
Last Friday, watched Seasick Steve at the Carling in Newcastle, cracking show. Also watched New Model Army, the Stranglers and Ruts DC earlier this year. All cracking shows. Seasick Steve...
Well Kaleo in February were ****ing ridiculously good. If you get the opportunity to go and watch a gig at the Albert Hall in Manchester, do it. Its an converted Church Hall (I think). Holds about 2500. The acoustics were absolutely ridiculous. As you can imagine when it only holds 2500 the band are within touching distance so you just can't beat it really. Kaleo's music also lends itself to that kind of venue. They were really tight and it was a great night. We found a great boozer too afterwards. Mancs were very welcoming and we had a good bit banter with them. Gullivers it was called.
Local to me, The Commitments and The Undertones are confirmed as headlining Northumberland Live in Bedlington. Gallagher Park 29th July. Should be a cracker if we get the weather. It was great fun last year and is a great one for groups of lads or families. Couldn't recommend it enough.
I find this type of venue the best, great atmosphere, not miles from the stage, love it. Gotta say the Mancs love their music, they are a very knowledgable bunch.
