Extremely good HD quality replay. I had been quite taken by the radio commentary, but I must be getting to that age where I'm too concerned for the boxers safety. I could barely watch the 'exciting bits' because I could see one guy getting really hurt. I was thinking about his brain being sloshed around inside his skull, getting damaged, probably beyond recovery for later life. No, I'm afraid that the reason I lost all interest in boxing is the reason why I can't engage the interest for just one last view. As for the baying crowd, I started to find a slight disgust welling up inside. Yep, my reaction surprised me.
Javelin thrower Thomas Rohler throws 93.90m to achieve the second best throw under the present javelin design [javelin throwers got too good at it in the past]. Fantastic throw, but while everyone was celebrating, nobody noticed how close he came to taking out a camerman: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/39829577 The cameraman was unmoved. I can only assume he didn't see it coming. Another 3 metres and that could have been tragic.
The javelin design was changed a while back because throws were so long that it was dangerous for spectators. As for cameramen, they feel detached because they are behind the camera....there have been a couple of cases where photographers have been killed without making any movement to avoid a gun turned on them.
You would think javelins were dangerous enough by themselves without there being guns involved as well!
Bouchard defeats Sharapova: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/39851644 Can't think of the right metaphor. Was that putting your money where your mouth is, or poetic justice, or what.? Least we won't be hearing so many screams for a few days.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/39868565 England draw France and Argentina in Rugby Union World Cup.
We used to do javelin at my school, then someone got one in the head - it actually perfectly went through the middle of the two lobes and the guy survived. Remarkable really, but they stopped doing it after that. Unsurprisingly.
Formula 1 should be renamed " who can make the best car within the regulations 1 " It get's more boring every year.
Yeah, the regulatory framework is beyond silly, but they've stumbled on some pretty compelling stuff. Vettel on Bottas earlier was quite something, too.
USA kids don't need to. They have the odd loaded gun left hanging around. That usually does a more complete job.
