A brief excerpt from today's MFW offering. Bang on Well played boys and full credit to you; do the same against the Bluenoses and we will be breathing down the collective necks of the top six. If we make the play-offs, we might get it right or get lucky. Again. However I proffer a caveat. There are nearly two weeks left of this wretched transfer window and I do not trust those at NCFC who are in charge of it. We have Nelson coming back from suspension, Alex Neil is inflexible in his 4-3-2-1 system so, to me, a striker is not a priority. Russell Martin was pretty good alongside Timm Klose against Wolves, but that doesn’t disguise the fact we need a new centre back – now! And as for Robbie Brady, he left us with a decent parting present when he carried on after being clattered and scored an excellent penalty. I don’t care who was in goal; he still had to put it in the net. And we have Jez Moxey to get any forthcoming deals over the line. And that truthfully terrifies me because I can understand what his brief might be. As a CEO he is doing his job. Under instruction. Come on Board, a left back and a centre back and we still might have a chance to go up this season via the playoffs. You claim to care: prove it.
Update from the BBC website - "Ryan is in a stable condition and expected to remain in hospital for the next few days," said a Hull statement. "Everyone at the club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the accident and emergency department and neurosurgery unit at St Mary's Hospital."
Just seen this article and it certainly brings back many happy memories - http://www.edp24.co.uk/features/pau..._t_pay_off_for_one_norwich_city_fan_1_4857607
Remarkable rags-to-riches story, albeit he bubble burst not too long after he left for Villa. But, as you say, we can hanker for those 'good old days' as much as we want, but we still have the wonderful memories of that golden 3 year period in our recent history Well played, Crofts, Benno, Pilks etc Superbly, drilled, marshalled and motivated by Lambert and Culverhouse.
Well we certainly need a LB (or two, if Brady leaves) and should be able to afford that from the Olsson money. After that, I'm split between a CB and a striker as the next priority, but to get enough money for either we need Brady or somebody else to leave first.
From the BBC website - Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason is conscious and has been speaking about the incident in which he fractured his skull during Sunday's game at Chelsea, the club said in a statement.
So Brighton go back to the top of the table and Reading are now 3rd on 49 points - or 9 ahead of us!!!!
I see Congo made the ACoN quarter finals. I'd imagine that means no Mulumbu for a while longer. Tettey needs to keep that last yellow on ice a while longer.
I see Chrissy Martin had a penalty saved again last night. I'm sure he missed with another one quite recently as well. Edit - interesting article from Stewart Lewis on whether or not to renew Season Tickets in today's MFW article - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...e-slings-and-arrows-of-norwich-city-fortunes/ A very reasoned article IMO, but it hasn't changed my mind.
Good, well balanced column I found this comment interesting - and curious? "The right way is what Norwich did over the Cup pricing: admit the mistake and try to make amends. The wrong way – and for me, it applies to their stance on Alex Neil – is to dig in their heels." Offering free coach travel to a long, midweek haul down to he south coast benefited circa 1,200 people - overcharging for the original tie was a kick in the teeth for the 12,500 who attended, but more importantly he 14,000 or so who would normally pack the ground but chose not to be fleeced on that day. Still, that's all behind us now...as long as valuable lessons have been learned by it?
From what I've heard, the board was contemplating an INCREASE in ST prices this season, so we can only hope!!!!!
