The home and away tables tell the full story. If we can pick up some away points I'll start to feel a little more confident.
Was not long ago that people* on here were saying Burnley were safe, yet if (big ifs, admittedly) we win this midweek and they draw or lose then we're within 1 win of them. Makes that draw in Marco's home form bonanza all the more regretful. * not me obvs, this is yet another thinly veiled nod to myself
Unfortunately having better form than Arsenal is utterly meaningless. If we are going to overhaul Swansea and/or Palace its them we need to have significantly better form than, while also maintaining better form than boro' and Sunderland. It's not just about putting points on the board. We need to put more points than at least one of those above us and at least as many as the two below us.
Look at the Spammers and Burnley form of late they are both dropping like stones .. I know West ham have a difficult run in as well .. not sure about Burnley .. they could quite easily be overhauled by us if we keep grabbing three points at home
Stoke Away looks possible - they look really poor at the moment. All we can do is keep churning out results. We are playing pretty well considering the pressure of being in the bottom 3.
Silva has to win away............. 2 chances, Stoke + Southampton also ManC away and Palace away, no chance
If the points per game (rounded) from the last 6 games form table held true for the remaining games...... Crystal Palace = 49 points Leicester = 47 Swansea = 37 West Ham = 36 Burnley = 36 Hull City = 36 Boro = 26 Sunderland = 25
true dat.... That's why I put the if in bold and italics as its just a bit of silliness. However, it actually reinforces your point that we probably need an away win as just winning the 3 "winnable" homes ties probably isn't enough. Swansea and Palace both finding some form is really a kick in the balls.
To be fair that's probably right, they've had 7 from 6 same as us. I was thinking in comparison to before they sacked Bob Bradley but you're correct right now they're not doing much.
Palace could quite conceivably lose every game prior to our clash with them in mid May - they won't keep their current form up, in my opinion.
We've had 14 points from 10 under Marco in the league. That rate would give us 11.2 (let's call it 11) from the last 8 and leave us on 38.
