Three words Sky. Juan Sebastian Veron We have seen many times that a player has been awesome for one club, then move to another, and fail to find his form at this new club ( I should know, half of them were signed by Chelsea) Mateja Kezman, Juan Veron, Hernan Crespo, Diego Forlan, Andrei Shevchenko, to name but a few.
It's unlikely though (I hope!!) that Pogba will have to fit into the team wherever there's a slot like Veron had to. With Veron, United did not play to his strengths or where he was suited, they just played him where there was an available position. He should have done better though, obviously. Although that's exactly what Mourinho is currently doing last night was more of an adjustment to play him where he is best. Alongside Fellaini in a withdrawn role (to accommodate Rooney, and only Rooney, of course) is not his best position. Either in a 4 4 2 or a 4 3 3 is. It would be mad to not play him there having shelled out so much.
I can't see it mate. He has everything to become a Utd great. Very early to even think he'd be in the Veron category
I know. Pogba is a cracking player. Just saying there have been many examples of cracking players moving to clubs and failing to bring their A game. Torres is another example. Diego Forlan is a good one too. Was excellent before and after United, but meh whilst in England.
Torres was ****ed with his knee before he even left Liverpool. No one was paying enough attention. Forlan had the whole south american coming to England thing, took him a while to adjust as they always do. Pogba has proved himself in Italy for three season prior to coming here so wonlt have that, plus he was with us previously. I had my doubts about him but it wasn't his ability, more his (seemingly) billy big bollocks attitude that was bothering me. In that respect I appear to be wrong, he looks a proper team player so far.
I can't believe the crap I'm reading about Paul Pogba, he's 23 years old, in a new league etc, he needed games, hence why he played last night, I'm not worried about him at all, it was going to take time for him to get used to Jose Mourinho's ideas.
I dont think anyone is talking crap about Pogba mate. No one expects him to be a flop. i merely pointed out that it can and does happen, all the time. Looks at Di Maria aswell. Pogba will be fine.
Congrats Chief, now you've done it... I'm imposing a strict policy on myself of not posting on rubbish threads. Chances are I'll only be able to comment on one or two threads on our board if this continues
