Nothing divides Spurs supporters more than the subject of Peter Crouch. However, a quick look at the goal & assist stats for this season sheds an interesting light on Peter Crouch's contribution to the Spurs cause... please log in to view this image ...Crouchie has made a vital contribution to a Spurs goal on average for every 101 minutes he's been on the pitch so far this season. Only Rafael van der Vaart can claim a better record than that for us during 2010-11. While I'm not suggesting for a moment that Crouch should be played for every minute in every game, I think his abilities are very much under-estimated by a certain element of our fans.
It is extremely unlikely that we'll win the title but, the way everyone keeps dropping points we have to keep hoping until its mathematicaly impossible. To be honest, I'm just delighted after a crap January to still be in with a very realistic shot of the top 4 again.
Probably right, but as I said if the teams around us keep up the inconstistancy that they've shown so far, then a relatively low winning points total is possible. This is the 1st season for as long as I can remember that no-one seems to want to pull out a BIG lead.
Well we're level on points with Chelsea, so if they're still in the Title race I suppose Spurs still are too. If we aim for the Title but fail, we still have a sporting chance of maintaining our UEFA Champions League place.
Earlier in the month I remember reading a thread on the BBC site for a Spurs fan claiming if Crouch lead the line against Blackburn away then you would lose as Samba would dominate him. As you know PC scored the only goal that night. As the OP says, he has contibuted big-time to Spurs success this season.
