Well fella I'm glad that your daughter returned safe. I bet she got a big dad hug when she got home. I hope she recovers from it all quickly too. Like ya say thoughts are with those who didn't come home god bless them.

If he said that he should be chinned. Not a question to ask, not a consideration.

Mate of mine, for tax reasons- I kid you not, joined the Azov battalion for a month last year.

Did as a favour for a couple of ex legionnaire mates.
    Baffles me as well.

It's akin to the likes of me going to Saudi and kicking off because I can't drink booze, don't like the heat and can't walk around in my shorts and flip flops.

    Or something like that.

it is baffling but it's because they can do what they want here instead of living under draconian laws and on the poverty line

I just can't help but feel empty today.

Did some glossing and couldn't put the radio on. Had to have silence in the house.

Took the pooch for a walk and what happened last night dominated my thoughts, couldn't think of anything else.

    Gutted.

I understand 100% Chazz, we have a holiday home on Burton Constable and we, thankfully, are flying to the states on holiday on Saturday so we're gonna miss the madness. I really hope that nothing kicks off there and that your kids enjoy the event.

    Agreed.
Wouldn't mind I had some really really good news today. But it just feels flat.

Can you share, Chazz? We could all do with some good news. No bother if you can't, just enjoy it yourself. <ok>

Wait, isn't that the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian battalion? Jaysus.

I know people in the YPG. They said it's like the International Brigades of the Spanish Civil War that Orwell and others joined. You have to serve six months at a time and it's unpaid obviously. Despite having piss-poor weaponry compared to ISIS, they're the most effective force at defeating them.

Michael Enright, a former British actor from Manchester currently serving in the YPG, posted a response to the attack.

Yes it is, he had a few 'contacts' with Russian patrols whilst over there but it's like water off a ducks back to him.

Ex 3 Para and 2REP French Foreign Legion.

He's on the 'circuit' now. Currently in the North African oil fields but worked in Iraq and Afghan for years.

Would like to see one of these IS 'soldiers' or cowardly bastards as I call them , have a square go with him, not their style though is it?

Have to say as a teacher that today has been a tough day. Not been directly affected but it was hard knowing that there were schools in this country which would be having to deal with the tragic loss of pupils and friends. As staff, we talked to our classes this morning and we left them with the message that if they were to do anything today, it would be to show kindness, love and compassion to others. Thankfully, you only have to watch the news to see so many people showing those exact actions in the midst of something terrible.

According to the people I know in the YPG, they use similar cowardly tactics. They drive trucks of explosives into Kurdish compounds. When they're captured, they **** themselves and say they were forced into it. Apparently, the hardest and most experienced fighters in ISIS aren't even Arab, they're Chechens and veterans of the Caucasus insurgency against Russia.

I was sIck to stomach after Bataclan, in Paris, the numbers, the way it happened , the setting.

This is equally as gut wrenching. Little kids man. I know a life is a life but the context here just makes it sickening.

but we cannot allow them to scare us. Sorry but it's true. A solution is difficult but we cannot succumb to the rhetoric.

This guy was born in Manchester this isn't gonna go away by closing borders and turning the country into a police state.

    So ****ing sad
