Esteban Cambiasso agrees new contract at Leicester City Former Inter Milan and Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has signed a new one-year contract at Leicester City, according to reports on Twitter. Cambiasso was a key member of the Leicester City squad who achieved the great escape last term and was a huge hit with the fans. Having originally only signed a one-year deal with the Foxes Cambiasso had been free to talk to other clubs. There was plenty of interest in the Argentine from the UK and abroad, including West Ham United and the MLS. Despite the interest from elsewhere, @fourthofficial_ (a very reliable Twitter source) has today tweeted that Cambiasso has agreed a new one-year deal. If, as expected, this news is to be true expect official announcement over the coming days. Great news if true....please be true!!!
... think this actual lead has now been dismissed as a recipe made from rumour with a dollop of wishful thinking ... but I'm still optimistic that he will extend for another season ... fingers crossed.
Fourth Official has gotten plenty wrong in his time. Jimmy Kebe is still lost in the corridors of the King Power...
Until indykaila has tweeted it 2 minutes after everybody else then I don't believe it! Mind you I can't read his tweets as the mardy fooker has blocked me
Sounds like people have got ´end of season boredom symdrone` I think you really needs a ? at the end of your thread title.
Lets hope he signed the contract at lunchtime cause i dont see him staying anymore, with a new manager it may not feel the same for him.
... really? ... you don't think that he would respect Hiddinck or Laudrup? ... I wouldn't underestimate our owners ambitions'...
Unfortunatly its not the current situation we are in. This is the time of season where we should be looking to seal his signature, yet we are having to worry about getting a manager in as well. He worked well with Pearson as he had pretty free reign to really help the team with his experience, maybe the new manager will come in and restrict that freedom. Best case scenario for me would be no matter what manager came in, they would put the words "club captain" in his contract offer.
Well any loyalty between Pearson and Morgan will be gone now. In fact, Morgan may find his days numbered. But it will take more a promise of club captaincy to bring back Cambiasso. Maybe someone like Hiddink may sway him, but I can't see him coming in a million years - besides, he's 68 years of age and already retired once in 2012 - he's hardly one for the future.
http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...-villa-make-esteban-cambiasso-bid_231282.html Villa have offered a contract to Cambiasso, apparently...
Would be my ideal choice too. I wouldn't want Cambiasso as manager as he hasn't got the experience and I'd want him to still be playing for us. Player-coach role would be great, though the man who's done best in creating that role has just gone (see his use of Chris Powell, Paul Dickov, and Kevin Phillips).
