Our under 23 coach collapsed at the training ground and was treated by our medical team before being taken by ambulance to hospital. No more details at the moment. Hope he makes a speedy recovery http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196
Hope he's not being taken to Mayday...sorry, "Croydon University Hospital" There's a reason the place is locally known as MayDie.
Last time I was there I only used the canteen, and within minutes I discovered their method of dealing with food which passed its use by date the day before: put a new label on top of the old one, and hope nobody notices. It was a bit difficult given how putrid some of the food was.
I had an emergency operation there many years ago. I was rushed in so there was no time for ordering food like you would if you were admitted for a scheduled op. That evening the food trolley came round. The person before me had ordered 6 (six) desserts. No main meal or soup, just 6 (six) desserts! No wonder we're a nation of fat bastards. I trust we're paying for Ugo to get the best ancillary care.
Could be worse, a couple of years ago they were going to great effort to kill my mother with their abject incompetence. It says a lot that the three weeks she spent at Mayday had her at death's door, yet when she got transferred to St Thomas' she was back home within two weeks.
My experience of hospitals in that area are not positive. I was in Mayday for a routine op in '84 that didn't go well...... and then was taken to Bromley Hospital after a footaball broken leg in the early '90's, which almost ended up with me losing the leg 10 months later!!! Fortunately, I imagine Ugo was taken to Chase Farm which is a different level altogether!
Best wishes to him and the family hope he makes a full recovery. My family have had a hard 3 weeks the son in law passed away 3 weeks ago my daughter is struggling to come.to terms with it he was only 30 years old and they had only been in their new house for 4 weeks.sometimes football takes a back seat at times like this the funeral is next Friday so I really need spurs to cheer me up this weekend by beating the chavs.
I'm glad you feel like that on here ... it's a good place imho. And hope you and your loved ones have a better time for the rest of the year.
Very difficult to come to terms with young people going, I'm glad you feel able to share that with the good people on this board. We don't know each other but we do know each other and there is a bond that exists between all of us on here that I hope, as you say, will be of help.
