So are we still up for sale? If so, are we actively trying to make that happen? Is there a time frame for this in terms of cut off date? If not, are we 100% focused on getting a new management team and new players in place for the start of the season? Have we learned lessons from last summer, or are we going to repeat them? Who knows?
A bit strange. I have an alert that tells me you've quoted a post of mine, but you haven't. It just takes me to the post above.
Actively? You mean on Gumtree or Ebay? I suspect not. You might need to sit down for this next bit. There's no queue of people wanting to buy our club. No foreigners, and no one from our fair City itself either. The last 2 were dodgy as ****. Americans had no actual money, just promises. The Chinese actually managed to fail the fit and proper test. Which I'm still astounded by, I mean seriously, how bad do you have to be to fail that? I'm pretty sure there isnt a "Football clubs for sale" Facebook group either. Of course our owners aren't arsed about a new management team, why would they be? Same goes for players. What's the point? Will people keep posting stupid questions? Yes.
So we agree they ****ed it up big time last summer ? Good. It's been an expensive balls up by them, with no indications that they have learnt the lesson.
Completely untrue that the Americans didn't have money. Football clubs change hands all the time, yes even outside the PL. There'd be absolutely no issue selling the club if they wanted to. Just like other clubs manage to be sold easy enough and ours has done before. Fact is the Allams and particularly Ehab don't want to go anywhere. Assem got carried away and made a silly threat about selling up and it's a three year lie that stemmed purely from that comment because he'll never admit that he didn't mean it or that he changed his mind.
You have my word and anybody that knows me will tell you that I am a man of my word. I will walk away in 24 hours... ... ... ... ?
Exactly. If he hadn't got carried away and said that out of frustration at not being backed over the name change we'd never have had the lie about selling.
That's only partly true, they couldn't have catered for one of the buyers to fail the fit and proper test. That out of there hands.
Here we go again. They are in charge. They have ultimate responsibility, regardless of extenuating factors. They got distracted by the sale, they took their eye off the ball, they didn't realise the damage the protracted negotiations would cause. It drifted and drifted. It's a very expensive lesson they've learned. Or at least been taught, there's no proof they've learned from it.
They will sell the club when they get an acceptable offer. Ehab in the interview said that is unlikely to happen whilst we are a Championship team. So for next season they are in charge. Ehab said, unless I misheard him, that they would be looking to appoint someone in the next couple of weeks, at least before the 1st of July. He also said they would be looking to get their business done early, especially if 4 key players are heading out the door. Ehab has 70 million reasons for getting this pre-season right. We haven't long to wait to see if he does. The depressing part of the interview is his total incomprehension of the fairly simple steps that would start getting the supporters back on side.
Sounds total rubbish to me mate. They will sell when they get their price not your price. They will get it one day but not this summer. Move on.
PLT the US Securities and Exchange Commission is a mine of information on companies. Grieves had $100m on paper not in the bank. What clubs has he bought? No one heard of him before and no one has heard of him since.
They could have had an excellent price and didn't sell. Setting the price unreasonably high seems like a convenient way to claim it's for sale while having no intention of going anywhere. People who've been involved in attempts to purchase the club have given up and bemoaned that they obviously don't want to sell it.
