In the build to what can only be described as the biggest Cup Final for hundreds of years, our dear rivals Manchester Utd have to play out three Cup games before setting foot on the sacred Wembley pitch. What happens in these games may well influence their cup final line up......so lets see how it pans out. Thurs 20.05 Home to St Etienne Sun 16.15 Away to Blackburn Wed 17.00 Away to St Etienne
Oh,and if they beat Blackburn, I think our league game with them that is scheduled 12th March gets moved. Our fates seem intricately linked.
Early team news for tomorrow: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38962487 Shame Sam picked an injury up last night, could of got him to kick a few at the weekend though I imagine that team will be fairly weak. Just hope that tomorrow night the tie isn't over either way so he has to take a fairly strong squad to France. 1-1 will do nicely.
Yeah it does... which is strange as it's currently down as a SKY game, Sunday 1:30pm ko. http://www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/more/fa-cup-round-dates
He's already talking about resting some players. We really need the other ST's to turn up tomorrow. If they leave with a draw, he'll have a lot of thinking to do. Can Zlat keep this incredible play every game record? He is the fittest 35 yo I've ever seen, credit to him.
Don't want to appear pedantic, but shouldn't the title of this thread be FLC Runners Up: ManU Watch [?] Just an observation.
So it's sticking pins into dolls time....Ibrahimovich to get an injury that keeps him out for say....10 days. Or a nice touch of food poisoning to sap their strength.....though it would be better if that card was played next week.
Realistically, I'm hoping for a tough game with scores level at the end of 90 minutes. That way it tires them out but also ensures they'll have to play a full strength 11 in the away fixture on the Wednesday before the cup final. These 3 games will hopefully work in our favour.
Not sure why we need this thread. If any of their players get crocked we can just celebrate, I mean sympathise, on the march thread.
I think fans need as many threads as possible to keep them from exploding with excitement and expectation. It stops them from worrying about no new CB, poor league position, risk of Puel replacing Wenger, any other real or imaginary meltdown scenario. The devil makes work for idle fingers/ eyes. Oh and still no ticket!
And hopefully the second leg will go to extra time and penalties, just to sap their energy a little bit more.
