    Of the canine variety

Do you own one? If not do you want one?

What you got? What do you want?

    Where did you get it?

    How much did you pay?

I haven't had one for a few years, last one was a collie. Great dog and very protective of my kids. Got given him by my FIL.

Want one now, mainly for outside due to disabled lad. But the prices are ridiculous. £1800 for a bulldog and £700+ for a Doberman or a boxer. That's for a puppy.

Want a puppy so its temperament is known from the off.

    Post pics if you can

I used to have a border collie, lovely dog. Makes me laugh how dogs are called things like Cockapoo or Labradoodle, and sold for ridiculous prices. They used to be called mongrels and were cheap as chips.

Mine was a border collie, very intelligent dog. Needed loads of exercise though and I did feel guilty at times not having time to take on the big walks regularly due to work hours

Mongrels were free back in the day

I haven't got one and don't want one. I just don't believe in having pets at all.

I got my dog 3 and a half years ago, she was only a few months old and she will be 4 years old on the 1st September.

Since I've got her, she's been by my side when I attempted suicide, when I moved to a new county by myself and through my Mother's (avatar) cancer battle which ended up in my Mam passing away. She's my best friend and I couldn't imagine life without her now. I've named her Skye and she's fiercely protective of me, but only when we are in the house. She loves people and other animals, such a friendly and loving dog.

Skye has taught me lessons in life that nobody else ever has. I now know what it takes to make a friendship/relationship work and last. The love and respect we have for each other is amazing and I know that we would both be prepared to die for each other if we were ever put in that position. I can't describe that feeling.

Skye is a German Shepherd, crossed with a pyrenees mountain dog. I walk her for at least 10 miles most days. We live in the countryside and it's perfect for her to run about and stretch her legs.

    This is Skye.

That's not my bed she's on. She has her own bed, in her own bedroom.

Absolutely this man's best friend <ok>

He beats it on the head with his gollywog voodoo doll. It's the recommended EDL method

Absolutely nothing in your post is a surprise.

Do you keep it chained up to the karavan?

Once my house is done like I want it to be...I plan on getting a dog...I might not do....pooping and scooping is a psychological barrier as things stand. Why do people do this then throw the bag on the floor, hang it off a bush etc. **** like that annoys me.

As for what I like and what I want. I like the Akita....my mate has one...****ing massive cuddly bastard( the Akita). I'm loving the Husky too....the traditional Alsation is elegant and a breed that's been out of fashion and sight for a few decades interests me.....the Doberman Pinscher. I'm hoping to get one of these breeds if and when I do.

    Staffie or English?

When I was a kid our next door neighbour had an English Bull Terrier, we used to dress her up by putting head scarves and glasses on her. Lovely animal, great temperament, good with kids, bit iffy with other dogs though I believe.

English, but to be picky the KC says Bull Terrier, not English Bull Terrier.

Mine loves everyone, cats and dogs as well, but my previous one hated them.

But Im sure he would bite Mustafa for the fun of it.
