In fourteen home games this season, we have recorded 14 different scorelines ! My moneys on 7-6 against Burnley.

OK , maybe 7-5 would be more realistic.

    So you're due a 2-0 and a 3-1 win then. Sorted.

I'm torn. Put money on those wins, or put it on Burnley ending their dire away record (assuming they don't win today = currently 1-1) as we let QPR do, and as we often do, end the misfortunes of others.

    Edit now losing 2-1

To be fair to Burnley they've been very good today and Liverpool are lucky to be winning. They have been reliably poor away from home previously though.

High stakes, a draw next week is bad but a loss is unfathomable.

Nowt new about big score lines:

Huddersfield Town were beaten 7-6 by Charlton Athletic in what was one of the most extraordinary matches of football ever seen.

Town were 5-1 up with 29 minutes to play before the Addicks staged one of the most remarkable comeback victories ever - and it all unfolded in front of Town manager Bill Shankly and an injured 17-year-old Denis Law.

No other team in professional football history has scored six and lost.

You need to score 6 goals. In a game, not a month. Not sure we can do it in a month even.

Best case scenario this weekend odds of 130/1 - just including the games that have any meaning to Sunderland.

Not too bad if that happens.

Worst case scenario this weekend, with odds of 2400/1 - just including the games that have any meaning to Sunderland.

    Game over.

Agree. If that happens, I think it's my point of acceptance. Think it would be for the players as well

The 'best case' is obviously far more likely to happen, you'd expect that to be the catalyst for driving the players on from that point.

Allardyce had well and truly got you going by this point last season, you had 23 points, 13 of which were gained from January onwards, you were 1 point from safety.

One defeat from now until the season had finished, which was against Leicester.

I'm hoping the permanent appointment of Shakespeare has the impact on Leicester that the permanent appointment of Phelan did on Hull.

Would love to see them relegated - if they were relegated, it would make us going down a little easier to swallow!

They've got too many winnables left imo. Besides, Shakespeare's only got the job 'til the end of the season, Phelan got the job permanently.

Would like to see them drop mind, after the way they've treated Claudio Ranieri.

If only we could say the same... Oh - we have 8 winnables... Yeah but we're Sunderland!!!

We have Burnley, West Ham, Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth, Swansea, Hull & Middlesbrough!! At the start of the season I thought that was a canny run-in!! Technically it still is - but, as I say, we are Sunderland
